BASS hates anything that gives it competition supposedly.

Heard rumors how they kinda screwed another organization locally by scheduling tournaments same weekends or something like that.

I heard turnout was very low at the classic weigh in and convention. Wondering if anyone here went out and observed the same?

Water temps ranged from 60-69. I’m sure there were some bedding, but the water was very dirty and not sure how anyone could have seen em.

We stayed upriver. All the winners were down the lake.

I don’t know if River Bend will ever be what it used to be. I grew up fishing it with my Pop and the hawgs he used to catch up there were unreal. Then again so much has changed , especially back in the flats. Can’t believe all those cypress trees died that used to be back there. :(

We went weekend before last ahead of all the severe weather rolling in. Stayed pretty much in Cowikee/Wylaunee. Surprised at amount of grass coming back. Obviously COE hasn't sprayed lake yet, hopefully they won't this year. Keyed on green hyacinth/peanut grass with a frog, swim jig, chatter bait, and spinner bait. Was a very productive half day until wind got too bad out of the south. Good luck on your tourney

Yes turnout was low and the media talked about it. The final six stage had a decent crowd. Bassmaster has to figure something out though or they’ll lose sponsors

I have paid for a booth in the exp 5 different times and traveled. Did not do that this year. Glad I didnt. a friend of mine had a booth and they stuck him upstairs and the traffic was very low

My 20 foot booth there is 5K and you have to add another 5K for expenses to do a Classic show. Also, 4 days off work and on the road. It is a expensive show and sales must be good to make it worth it

When I was in Georgia, doing the classic in South Carolina, Alabama or Tennessee were certainly worth it. Covid killed the trade shows and I am not doing any of them right now

We went Saturday, it was kind of screwed up because the EXPO was downtown Ft Worth and the Dickie's Center is kind of on the out skirts.

I thought they were right beside each other, but we had to get on a bus and ride about 15 minutes each way. The EXPO was packed

When we went to leave there was line of about (I guess) 300 people waiting to board the busses and one bus waiting, it was going to be over an hour so we took an uber.

They strung the way in out so long we left before the leaders came through, it was probably 7 pm Saturday.

It was a cluster F$%K but I did get to meet a few of my childhood heroes Hank Parker / Bill Dance.

We went and never knew there was an upstairs

No wonder traffic was slow, I don't recall seeing any signs or stairs.

Makes me wonder what we missed now

Yea, it really sucks as a vendor when BASS does that to you. It is a huge expense to take a small tackle company there and do a booth. You make most of your money on Saturday and early Sunday. Having to recover 10K or so then try to actually make some profit after that is just a task.

They stuck us upstairs at the last Birmingham classic and had no signs on the first day. A bunch of us complained and they fixed it on day 2 but we basically lost a day because people didint know we were there.

Just a mistake that should have never been made
