Fun fact, I was once jailed in Rowan County for a couple of weeks. Been in worse but still not fun. No TV, slept on the floor and outside was a windowed room with vents to let air in. But I did learn the card game "tonk" there. Believe its a dry county as well(or was).

I believe our penal code too lenient, citizen or not. May or may not deter crime according to some but there would be a lot less criminals walking around to do harm. We use to hang horse thieves. Just think how many less car thieves we would have today.

The guy who was killed was on the men's soccer team at his college. Obviously, the college can't go into lengthy legal details in a basic news release, but it's too bad that all these potato-headed DUI illegals get the term "car accident" applied to their bs.

The biggest problem with illegals honestly is the drinking and driving. They also are a lot of the times not using a vehicle registered in their name or anyone affiliated with them. If it is their vehicle, they have no insurance and/or they have no license. And there is absolutely nothing that can be done if they flee and are not caught because how do you trace it back to them? This has happened twice to me where a drunk illegal has plowed into my vehicle and one time my house going over 80 in a 25. Fortunately, both times only resulted in property damage but the second dude left the car and drug needles all over the driveway and they have no idea or incentive to find him. This happens a lot and it has to be one of the biggest issues surrounding getting these guys out of here. It's complete BS that we have to deal with it but they are really fond of driving under the influence.
