So, in about a half hour?

Yes but nothing has been picked up by offshore sensors yet. I’d assume we would have a heads up from those first.

Man I've got family on the Southwest Oregon coast (they're MAGA AF). Prayers up.

7.3 is a biggun. Biggest I ever felt were a 5.9 in SoCal in the late 80s and a 5.7 in central OK in 2011.

Could you imagine if this had struck one month ago to the day?

have some coworkers who live there and they said that they felt it. They’re currently packing up to move to higher ground in the city of San Francisco.

Man I wish they'd consider moving to higher ground somewhere in the heartland of America. Tornados are bad but earthquakes are far worse. I've lived through both.

At least this one was offshore. It gets interesting in a horrible way if this is an indication of a new cycle of activity. If it’s a one off it is likely a big nothing.

Nobody felt it...offshore, it was followed up by 3 , 6.0s and some other minor ones 2.0s down south. I'm right now 30 minutes away from.Santa Cruz and unless you turned on the news, you wouldn't have known there were Earthquakes happening in NorCal.

Not true. Reports are coastal towns felts shaking and wave like movement. It was at sea level so felt much easier than a deeper earthquake. There are no reports of significant damage or injury but local channels are broadcasting reports of people definitely feeling the earthquake.

It’s been over an hour and not a single offshore sensor has picked up a sign of a tsunami.

I certainly don't want loss of life or property.

But it should would be fascinating watching remastered response to that compared to north carolina.

First off, I hope your family is okay. My MIL just moved from Florence to Walla Walla over the summer and she was very close to the ocean. This would’ve freaked her out if she was still there.

We got a text from friends of ours in Ocala asking if we felt it. Nope. But the epicenter is probably close to 500 miles away. We felt the Ridgecrest one a few years ago and that shook our home a bit for way too long. The duration was the worst part…. When is this gonna wrap up??

Thank goodness all those scary Trump/Vance signs are gone so FEMA workers won't be frightened.
