That is all to say that, yes, intentions matter in the realm of protest, whether or not the protester’s actions are technically legal
Law enforcement officers enforce the law. You adding the word “technically” here is irrelevant. Legality is dichotomous. Something is either legal or illegal. If someone is engaged in legal activity that you don’t like…tough titty.

Makes one wonder why laws ever change, being handed down from on high as you seem to think.
Why are protestors protesting at all if the moral good and the law are coterminous?
Forget about the discussion of interpretation of the law, or of police discretion, or of judicious enforcement of the law due to limited resources, etc.

Peaceful protesters aren’t the ones being detained. The ones blocking streets, blocking buildings, bum rushing officers are.
Great, so you agree that those that are peacefully protesting should continue not being arrested or detained? So you are in full agreement with this judges ruling? Good to know we have one Constitutional supporter on this board

That should solve any conundrum for you.
The only people in a conundrum right now are the posters twisting themselves into pretzels trying to argue a judge saying “you can’t arrest peaceful protesters” is somehow a bad thing

Dude are you OK? I made no morality judgments and I never argued laws can’t change. LEOs are not out there making “moral decisions” on the streets. They are tasked with enforcing current law.

It’s clear you are a bit too emotional to discuss this topic rationally. Let me know if that changes.

That’s because they understand this judge’s idea of peaceful protesters is likely different from reality- because were it not, there’d be no reason for such a proclamation.
I can only guess where you stood on the Slotkin/Kelly production of their “unlawful orders” PSA.

Projection, I think.

Did you read the ruling? The judge gives several examples of what is not “peaceful protesting.” She goes over the case law that informed her statements. Or did you fall for a click bait OP (…again).
Like I said, only an authoritarian who hates our Constitution would find issue with the statement “can’t arrest peaceful protesters”

You want LAW enforcement officers to enforce your feelings and your sense of morality. Do better.

Our constitution allows us to protest publicly. We can curse and call agents names, even though I think that’s counterproductive.

Specific examples are better than vague statements.
One specific example would be Filming ICE officers. That is not obstruction.
Yet ICE was threatening those who were filming with arrest.

Peaceful ones need to be allowed to protest peacefully. Violent ones need to be thrown in prison. Because no shite.
Thankfully life is just THAT simple
Ever heard of "a bad apple ruins the bunch"? If "peaceful" protesters keep getting out of hand the "peaceful" protesters have the chance to police themselves before the actual police are needed.

Good. No problem. ICE needs to just keep on keepin’ on.

Trump needs to send in the military and tell that judge to pound sand.
He has that authority and is also looking at the Democrats and RINO's in Congress who might be praying he defies a Federal judge. Personally, I believe something far bigger than Minneapolis is about to occur in this country regarding the illegal coordination of people working to defy this POTUS!!

Link?
I never said MY morality. It’s bizarre that you don’t understand the foundation of law is a moral system of beliefs. Morality precedes the passage of laws. Surely you don’t disagree?

At this point leftists are so mentally ill they should’ve allowed out of their houses much less a fake protest.
