Yes. I can count on one hand the number of Sundays I haven’t been in church the last decade. Everything thing we have in life we owe to God. Saying thank you for an hour or two once a week on Sunday is literally the least we can do.

are more people going to church since Trump has been in office?

Why would Trump being in office cause people to go to church? Trump doesn’t promote any sort of faith or religion other than worship of himself.

Get to Mass, men. With the whole family.

I lost a lot of time with the whole “I see God huntin’ and fishin” excuse. I get it.

While still special, it is not the same as being with Jesus in The Church that He started.

I wish that I could go back and be better.

Why do you assume the gender of the poster you quoted?

Doesn't that make you "transphobic" or "genderphobic" or "homophobic" or whatever the hell term that YOU PEOPLE have decided to use this week?

No one knows when Jesus is coming back for the final judgement, not even him (only the Father knows). But he’s going to come like a thief in the night, and the judgement will be upon us all in an instant. Get in God’s good graces NOW. Be prepared.

I attend Mass Weekly and always have, but I enjoy telling liberals that Trump brought me to my faith. He is the reason I love Jesus now. They get apoplectic and hate hearing stuff like that. It’s funny watching them freak out.

I no longer see a need for organized religion. If you want to have a relationship with god you do not need to do it with a massive group of people. Listening to the same biblical stories year after year growing up was like watching the same movie again and again. I personally have a hard time relating to stories about the way people lived over 2000 years ago as they do not compare to the complexities today’s fast paced technology driven world and many of the erhical issues we face as a society.

The widespread sexual abuse scandals in the Catholic Church and Southern Baptist Convention put me over the edge. These institutions protected their pedophiles / predators and prioritized their reputations over the safety of children.

We don’t need hierarchies or dogma to live moral, meaningful lives. Community, compassion, and purpose can thrive without institutions that have repeatedly failed the vulnerable and taken trillions of dollars of capital in the process.

What this means then is that “not knowing” refers to his not being sent to reveal the day and the hour in his human nature, leaving that office to the Father. It has always been understood that as God, Christ knows the day and the hour but that in his mission on Earth he was not sent to reveal this. We need to remember that the word to know in the Semitic senses used in Scripture is very diverse and rich and does not refer only to mental information but to actions and offices.

I truly feel sorry for this mindset. It is a very dangerous and pervasive temptation in first world countries. “we have evolved past our need for God” is such a clever trick.

That’s exactly what evil does. It takes very small little lies and deceptions and uses them to destroy your entire faith which you justify. It’s brutal but it is reality. I pray you find your way back to communion with Christ in the worship of God on the sabbath.

I never said we have evolved past the need for god. I said we have evolved past the need for organized religion

You said you don’t need the Bible stories because you can’t relate to its stories and you don’t need church because you don’t agree with the men running it.

The stories that matter in the Bible absolutely compare to our lives today. Especially the parables and teachings of Jesus.

As for organized religion, I can understand your frustrations with the Catholic Church, but the teachings of God are important. The sacraments are important and organized religion helps preserve them and spread them. Also, men sharing the same principles and beliefs will inevitably organize themselves. Also, God created religion and founded the tenements and practices for it and then Christ fulfilled that creation and perfected it. And then sent His spirit out to mankind to continue it.

Men cannot change the Truth found in God. FTR, I am not Catholic.

Jesus repeatedly warned us to beware the leaven of the Pharisees. He railed against the leaders of the church and their hypocrisy. Certainly a story you can relate to with your issues with organized religion.

Do you currently have a relationship with God? Even without orgized religion? What does that relationship look like?

You realize not all who worship “god” take a Christian view of god? Also, you can choose to mold your relationship with god, while understanding many stories in the Bible were meant to be lessons about life and it was not possible for them to have occurred - e.g., Tower of Babel, Garden of Eden, Noah’s Arc.

I take the view that I find god when I am out in nature, doing things with my children that make them happy. My children get to hear religious stories at the pre-school they attend.

Our Catholic Mega Church outside Houston has 6000 registered families (not people, families) and 6 masses on the weekend and everyone is packed

I didn’t say I don’t believe in Jesus. I just no longer believe in the Catholic Church which is the religious community I grew up in. My favorite priest growing up, a man I was confident that god used to spread his messages, ended up getting caught up in a sexual scandal (yes it was consensual with a married woman).

Lost my faith in 2022. I miss the community aspect to it and belonging to something. I’m grateful I was raised in it. I wouldn’t go back though.

Do you agree with the recent leadership of the Catholic Church & SBC or any organization that protects child predators
