Believe it or not, these are not two philosophically opposed positions.
Hint: INNOCENCE vs. GUILT

I’m not against it.
But I’m not for it like I once was either. To your point extreme cases like Dylan Roof or Gavin Eugene I’d flip the switch myself.

Against both it and abortion. I choose life...period. In the case of death penalty sentences, I prefer life in prison.

100% for and I think it should be expanded to violent rapists and child molesters.

Monetarily. Humanely. Fair Justice.
It doesn't prevent killing.

It certainly 100%, without a doubt prevents them from killing again, doesn't it?

In principle, I am against the death penalty. I don't condone killing babies or adults, even the shitty ones.
In reality, it doesn't bother me at all when a terrible human is killed.

I used to be a staunch believer in the death penalty - you know, back when I was naive enough to believe police and prosecutors made sure they had the right guy. But I've seen enough people exonerated by DNA to give me serious pause. I'm still in favor of the death penalty for certain crimes but if I'm on a jury, I'm not voting for the dp unless there is incontrovertible dna evidence to tie the defendant to the crime. Circumstantial evidence, eyewitness accounts, and fingerprints aren't enough for me.

Thats kind of irrelevant if they didnt do it.
But then again somehow the folks in favor of the death penalty somehow think only the guilty get executed.

Mixed.
On the one hand I like how the Byzantines handled it, they tended to prefer blinding and castration in order for the guilty to pray for their forgiveness.
On the other hand I admire a good crucifixion, I think Constantine may have made a mistake in abolishing it, let the Barbarians know the Romans had gone soft.

I am pro death penalty and anti-abortion.
Taxpayers should not be forced to take care of the scum.
I know morons say it cost more for the death penalty because of appeals. That's only because we have a fricked up judicial system.
