They could also have revved up the engine after a power loss to make corrections or reverse but that isn’t as fun as going full speed towards it.
Yep.

The ship slowed from 8 knots to 1.5 knots at impact, likely due to providing reverse thrust during the period when they had power.

So nah.

Dude. Look up water currents, ship maneuverability, and inertia. Then take this post down.

Don't forget wind.

That vessel is a 150' tall, 400' long sail when it has no power.

This whole thing is pretty simple... it lost power and wind pushed it into a collision course with the bridge support.

I’m more worried about the maintenance log, and why it didn’t have a tug escort.

I know it’s not uncommon to have a tug escort, but I bet they start mandating it now.

Watch this video of the actual route of the ship, then delete your post

Good video. The pilot did what I suspected from my first impression...he was trying to backdown in between stalls.

Pronoun problems? The word 'y'all' were searching is "YOU" ... i.e., YOU have serious issues.

Capisce?

I know this topic has been posted a few times, but in this video clip notice how the ship instantly has the engines fire up with the exhaust plume in time to steer right into the main support beam. Add to the fact that the FBI IMMEADIATELY comes out and said it wasn't an act of terror. Video in up right corner is the one I am referring to.

It did. 2, to be exact. This has been verified many times.

I never want to hear people complain about river boat or harbor pilots making too much money again.

This is their job. To get these giant ships in and out of ports safely and prevent these kinds of accidents. Boat capitaines from around the world do not have intimate knowledge of local harbors.

Well, their job is to not crash into things.

Kinda failed here.

Per Lara Logan on X...

Multiple intel sources: Baltimore bridge collapse was an “absolutely brilliant strategic attack” on US critical infrastructure - most likely cyber - & our intel agencies know it. In information warfare terms, they just divided the US along the Mason Dixon line exactly like the Civil War.

I’m guessing the reason they stopped having tugs escort the ship through the bridge is cost. It would add $5-10k for each transit of the bridge. The Coast Guard will usually require it if the vessel has a reported problem. I could see them potentially requiring it for a year or so but then shippers will begin to push back.

Fuel oil can't melt concrete.

Do your own research.

And take a pill.
