If something is not broken, don't try to fix it

That is just a commercial for Cracker Barrel. They also didn't explain how the portions have shrunk, and prices expanded over the last 10 years, making them less than a valued place to get a quick meal.

That bitch is from Nashville and went to Miami-Ohio. She worked for years for Taco Bell. I wonder if that bitch kilt the chihuahua?

They are going the way of Po'Folks from the late 80's early 90's.

Yeah, the clientele now is mostly older folks but these older folks have kids and grandkids that know and have supported the brand for years

Except those kids and grandkids aren’t supporting the brand. The stats are there if you care to look. It’s a public company. Maw-maw and paw-paw may still be going to CB (but they don’t go out very often), but their kids and grandkids are going to other places, and doing so more often.

They didn’t fix what was broken, they just broke the things that were still good like their logo and the feel of the restaurant.

They should try fixing the food and service first before remodeling. It’s a fricking restaurant people will eat in dirty shacks if the food is good, look at every good bbq place.

Well when they started dying, it was during post-Covid inflation so they went for the "we're still affordable" route and made their bad food even shittier, which didn't help.

If they invested in better food, it would get similar treatment to this current move by being associated with urbanity the same way. Changing the menu to be more modern + higher prices would lead the same culture war revolt (and likely fail, like this one is).

There's damn lies and there's statistics. My kids, and I would guess most kids, grew up wanting to go to grandma's house for that good food. The food quality and service are what matters in a restaurant.

What does grandma's house have to do with a corporate restaurant chain?

Fix the food and service... leave everything else alone. This ain't rocket surgery.
I've not eaten there forever. Their breakfast was once good. My brother (both of us are older) really enjoyed their breakfast and it was way more than one could eat. Has their breakfast also gone to crap? That's a shame and as someone said, this is not hard to figure out. Some folks will put up with bad service for good food but not both (bad food and bad service).

In one of their last attempts to fix their death spiral they went for affordability during the inflation crisis. The food was already bad-mid, and got worse, as you'd expect.

That was 100% playing to the base, too, during "Biden's" inflation.

It failed.

If all of these people fighting the culture war actually supported Cracker Barrell the past 5 years, they would be doing fine and wouldn't have to keep trying to save the company

What did they do; cut prices, portions and quality? Now that's a brilliant business approach! sarcasm/

At this point I think they've tried everything except a complete overhaul of the menu and raising prices accordingly. Does anyone think that would be the miracle that saves them?
