you're just pure poor white trash and as such i don't give a schit about what you think about anything. just enjoy your mobile home and that you don't pay income taxes.

Some do as long as it’s Trump. Very sad…

I agree that the size and scale of the land and population is essentially not governable long term. People are too different and need different things.
My main issue is this: the only things in the world that actually work well are monarchical. Corporations, sports teams, military units, etc. Everything in your entire house was made by a company that answers to a top-down authority structure. The workers at Toyota don't decide what kind of cars to make or what engine design to use. In your personal life, does everyone in your family get to make major decisions? Or is that reserved to one or two people? Groups don't make good decisions. Groups are dumb and impulsive. Every 4 years our foreign policy reverses and the other nations of the world hold on for dear life as the whims of the American electorate shape their lives.
It's just not a good or effective system. But it does make you feel good, me included.

Good point. When you first asked about this, I thought "the era of good feelings" under James Monroe.

A democratic republic may not be the most “efficient”, but that’s not the point.
The Founders knew a democratically elected government would have its problems. They also knew it was far superior to the alternative.

That question has not been answered and is still up for debate. 250 years is nothing. If stability is the measure of success, then monarchy absolutely owns our arse.

It's frustrating when Massie or Paul or some Republican doesn't support President Trump’s legislative agenda...BUT that's the prerogative of a Representative or a Senator in representing the people who elected him.
Those people also voted for Trump. And the president is greater than a senator or representative.
If we were to ask the voters if they support Trump's deportations or Rand's preference for little enforcement, what do you think they would say? Polls say the majority of Americans overwhelming support Trump on immigration, and that includes the people Rand and Massie supposedly represent.
Do you think Massie's constituents voted for him to oppose the DOGE cuts after he has spent years crying about too much spending?
This is the problem with Rand Massie supporters. They act as if they are infallible. Your entire premise is based around this. "If you don't support these guys, then you just want a king." Solid logic. The thought that people in Kentucky voted for Trump to implement his agenda never even occurred to you, because in your mind, the poodles can do no wrong, even when they are a broken record on spending but still vote against spending cuts because Trump hurt their feelings.
Seriously, you guys have no leg to stand on with Massie after he voted against DOGE cuts. We told you he was a grandstander and would vote against spending cuts because of Trump. Yet, you ignore this blatant hypocrisy, because once again, you think the 2 guys voting with democrats are flawless and pure for standing up to that terrible Trump giving the people what he campaigned on and what they asked for.

I don’t want a king, but I also don’t want a bunch of RINO and democrook cocksuckers in Congress.

We want an American who puts America first instead of a Demon retard who is out to destroy America.

quote:I don’t think that is accurate. In history classes there was more focus on bad monarchs because that’s where a lot controversial things happened. Most monarchs were never even mentioned in history classes because they just did what they were supposed to do.
But history shows us that these people are few and far between
America needs a Lee Kuan Yew.

I don't have a premise because I don't have a point. As I said, I agree with Trump more often than I do with Massie. I just don't think it's the end of the world if Massie votes how he thinks best.
I just wondered if some of y'all who rail against Massie wouldn't be happier without the mess of having to rely on Congress.

Good point... I think, as Americans, we are viscerally against any kind of "royalty", though.
Another point, traditionally Kings and other such royal titles, were governing by 'Divine Right'. Believe in it oneself or not, what's important to note is that THEY believed it.
We will (likely) never, in this country, have any kind of agreement on who has this divine right to rule. Biblically speaking, it'll be a damn scary time should such a situation come to pass.

This sucks. I think there used to be a more smooth continuity in the passing of the presidential baton- but you're right, as reality stands now it is damn near guaranteed to be a dizzying pendulum swing that is not good domestically, but perhaps more importantly is potentially devastating on a global scale.

True on both points. I will add, though, the reason it makes us 'feel good' is we have yet to even begin to construct even the semblance of an idea for a better way forward.
A way that *must* have the blessing of the overwhelming majority of citizens in order to be accomplished or succeed. We are too many, too different and lose more and more common ground as the days go by.
*sorry for the trash show delay- they left it on a cliffhanger last week and I just couldn't wait!

To paraphrase a great supreme court justice... what even is "An American"?
This is the crux of the problem before us all. We are a diluted and divergent people. United we stand, divided (diversified) we fall.

Relying on Congress isn't the real problem. Congress not being accountable to the people is.
We get headlines, tidbits and screenshots of the "interesting" stuff... we don't get to see the seven ways from Sunday they screw us over.
