BREAKING: Japanese negotiators are complaining that the problem with the trade negotiations with the White House, what's delaying concrete progress and a real deal, is that US keeps changing its ask in terms of exactly what it wants

Every diplomat I've asked about tariffs in the Middle East has told a similar story: they don't know how to engage with the Trump administration because everyone makes different demands

Every single person who works for the White House on trade seems to have a different idea of how to (ab)use the tariffs. There seems to be no big common plan to which they are all aligned to. This won't work.
It should be no surprise that things are working behind the scenes exactly as they are working publicly. For whatever reason there seems to be way too many chiefs and not enough Indians, and all of them seem way too willing to talk.

Haven't looked at my 401K. Don't plan on it any time soon. Hasn't impacted me at all. Odd how that works.
My wife has about 1.2 million in the stock market from her inheritance. The dividends from those go into a cash account and that contributes to our household income and it has taken a hit lately. But we understand what Trump is doing is necessary and will ride it out
I over payed estimated taxes on the farm and am getting 30k refund so I intend to pay off both credit cards and my truck with that, and that will balance the reduction in income from the stocks

It appear to be a great buying opportunity especially because it is not based on how the companies are doing. Those numbers have not cratered. It is based on uncertainty and fear. Once the fear disappears logic says the market will recoup all of its current loses and if the tariffs work then they dow and s&p will go even higher.
Yes sir, the only question is how long will the chickens panic.

And it should be no surprise that you continue to cry about Trump regardless of what happens

My retirement projection got pushed out a few years, so not only do I work 4 months out of the year for the government, I may end up working additional years too.

The only way your dividend income will be reduced is, if the individual stocks cut their dividends.

I know y'all have a strong desire to pin this down turn equities on "tariffs" but this down turn is more closely correlated with FR tightening.
Exactly. The market is responding to a decline in the USDollar Index, which dropped below a key technical support level …. caused primarily by targeted selling of UST tranches by China.
This is a time for patience, not knee jerk media-induced hogwash.

Always buy when the panic starts. Especially when it’s driven by politics not economics. Anyone who bought broadly yesterday already made money even accounting for commission.

If the stock market continues on the path it's on, which it won't.

Which can only be one of two things. It's either by design or total incompetence. If it's incompetence, that is scary AF, but can be fixed by getting the right people in place. However, even scarier is that if it is by design, which would mean that the trump Admin has NO desire to resolve these trade issues and truly believes that tariffs at this level will generate a Golden Age, and that scares the every living frick out me.

More of this fricking mockingbird nonsense.
Stating the fricking obvious, that everyone involved in this has been on a different page saying different shite, is not crying, you insufferable cock sucker. It is reality, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.
Hey, I kind of like this constant name calling shite.

Without looking through this mosh pit, let me guess, the stock market doesn’t count, it only affects day traders, the goal is long term, [insert bullshite]
Yay!
It’s all good!
