I don’t think people here are saying that Trump can’t golf. They are saying he’s not the “scratch golfer“ that he claims to be. There are also videos of him shanking shots, which scratch golfers rarely do.

Let me put these facts another way concerning the manner in which Trump plays golf (rather than just calling Trump a cheater)
Golf by it's own rules are kept by the player , players.In the huge $$$ professional tournaments scores,cameras,officials watch every shot.Trump in his playing with friends,professionals etc.Trump takes the liberty of writing down his own score of what he wants NOT what's his actual score BY THE RULES OFGOLF.
When Trump claims many Club Champions at his own resorts , records rounds at some of these self owned courses....truth be told I call it cheating but in reality Trump is only cheating Himself...feeding is narsistic ego.
Golf by it's own rules are kept by the player , players.In the huge $$$ professional tournaments scores,cameras,officials watch every shot.Trump in his playing with friends,professionals etc.Trump takes the liberty of writing down his own score of what he wants NOT what's his actual score BY THE RULES OFGOLF.

I see the futility of pointing out the fact Trump doesn't score,play by the rules of golf... believe,think whatever you like.
I started playing golf at about 7 and the time I reached 10 I realized recording an in CF correct score was only CHEATING MYSELF

So let's look at that - I play every Saturday with a group of friends - we give putts "inside the leather" is that cheating? Also since I am not allowed to put more than a double bogey - sometimes I just pick up - is that cheating? We hit 2 balls off the first tee - is that cheating?
As far as I can tell Trump is not playing in a sanctioned tournament and I don't know if he even has a GHIN handicap (he is not listed ) but other Trumps are including Kai at +0.1 - impressive - so he is not posting any scores

In the last Senior Club Championship he had 2 claims
A record 68.... no one witnessed the round.
In that same Senior Championship (West Palm) he claims he won the tile of a 3 round event it's documented and confirmed by Trump later: because he was out of town he DID NOT play the opening round
I call the above BY Trump... CHEATING !

I could argue that you are more a stickler of the rules and virtually everyone I play with in a non-tournament basis and granted in tournaments every put hold etc. and the rules apply
With regard to Trump and his club championships I don't know the logistics or the facts surrounding all of those and it could be North Korea style where he plays by himself and is the only one to win the event
I also doubt that he is a scratch bomber meaning an index below 2-3. But I don't care about that
I will say based on his golf swing and watching various kind of play golf he is very good and probably better than I will be assuming I live to be that age

I believe you are being kind in identifying me as a stickler for always playing by the rules of golf.Indeed every time I teed it up I was playing for a score against my handicap....This held for the last 40 years.The vast amount of my golf was with friends,probably like you.The gimmies putts or mulligans my friends took was up to them.( unless we were playing for $$$ or beers)One other circumstance neither on of us has covered if "playing the ball as it lies". How about the ye ole foot wedge?!My verbel calling from tee off was : playing it down and dirty.
Sure I've played in many 4 man scrambles and some and father/son country club tournaments (all played by rules set for all Before event happen
*** Please forgive me for this one brag...It's my only golfing claim.I was playing in a 144 man scramble (4 man teams x 18) my 5 foot 4 1/2 135 lb. body won the longest drive of the day.One of my many faults is to out drive all the gorillas of the day.
