Any hot takes on why Gen X decided the election?

Because we've been sitting quietly and watching Millennials turn everything to shite for too long, and decided it's time to bench the bastards and save the world.

You're welcome.

I have an unhealthy disdain for the Baby Boomers. But never looked down upon Gen X

I’m Gen X

Gen Z and Millennials that look down on Baby Boomers are ignorant.

They went through JFK, RFK, MLK, Nixon, Vietnam and the Vietnam draft, Korea, 2 to 3 hour gas lines, working 2 or 3 jobs, Cuban Missle Crisis, the height of the Cold War, interest rates at 18%, and much more. Most of this had nothing to do with the mistakes their generation made.

My parents lived in their first house for over 40 years. They bought it with a 36 year loan with 16.5% interest.

Boomers elected Reagan. Boomers raised their Gen X kids and their Millennial grandkids. Some Boomers are still supporting their Gen X kids.

Each generation has their problems. Boomers are better people than Gen X and Millennials.

Couldn’t imagine Millennials going through a draft to go Iraq or Afghanistan. There are a lot Millennial conservatives on this board that would be liberals.

Old folks homes and retirement villages/apartments. They don't get out into the real world enough to know the MSM that they consume nonstop has become pure bullshet. And old fart Democrats that have no idea of even pronouns, so have no clue what the party has really become. And then the true blood reds. Those old fighters are examples to us all.

I’d be willing to bet the actual statistics paint a different picture. Also, the “Gen-X” statistic in the OP suggest I’m Gen-X, having been born in 1960. I always thought I was a boomer.

Anyway, boomers and the silent generation were the only ones that majority voted for Trump in 2020. It’s hard to believe they became Dems because the last four years have been so awesome for 2020 Trump voters.

Mine can’t vote yet, and I wouldn’t dream of dictating a vote. But let’s just say that kid already has the right idea without us saying anything. I’m proud.

And I’m damn proud to be part of Gen X. Rolling back to a Reagan-type era would be amazing.

O so the generation that grew up with Nirvana, Beavis and Butthead, and Chris Rock don’t like being told what they can and can’t say? Weird.

Nirvana?
You missed the 80’s and part of the 70’s at least for my gen x generation. Born in ‘70 here : )

That's the bad thing about being a "xennial" I get lumped in with millennials, but don't identify with them at all. I'm 42.
