I’ll be fine in the sense that my business will survive if tariffs remain at the old levels. Just like raising the corporate tax rate. Not shutting the business down but not good for my company growth.

Wow. I guess only idiots would buy aluminum from countries where it is more abundant and therefore cheaper rather than buying it sourced from the USA where our mines provide about 10% of the entire countries usage rate.

I guess rather than making useful products and employing white collar jobs we should all roll up our sleeves and go pick up cans on the side of the road to recycle.

And if it gets worse, I’ll have to cut jobs. Pretty simple.

Can’t believe some of you can’t understand that these tariffs for some industries / companies are worse than a big corporate tax hike.

Lets be honest the mental gymnastics displayed here are olympic level and the only thing that makes us check this board when big news drops.

They've dug so deep they cant even see where they started at this point.

Lets bring back mining/farming jobs at the cost of all the jobs we'd actually want for our kids

I run a business and tariffs make things extremely difficult for us because our primary material cannot be sourced domestically even if we wanted to.

That being said, I'm STILL not against tariffs because I don't view the world at large through the lens of what's solely in my best interest.

Hey, everyone, let's let other countries continue to abuse us through unfair trade advantages so businesses relying on China don't have to adapt

Exactly. It's why i dont understand the blanket tariffs supporters. Its just a tax companies are forced to pay and pass on to customers or if its a product with an international competitor eat the costs and slowly go out of business.

We told them last night that if they don't quit their bitching that we would raise the tariffs even more. Again, for those in the back.

I actually like the idea of limited, targeted tariffs for key industries. That said, the tariff rollouts are pure chaos and this Art of the Deal shite where you trash and scare everyone into deals and boycotts is childish and counterproductive.

Yep. When your ag industry is a major exporter tariffs hurt that industry.

Tariffs on steel, aluminum, etc are retarded when Trump states he wants things built in America. We don’t have the industrial base without buildout first. Tariffs make the build out 20%+ more expensive.

There's a really easy way to end this. Tell other countries to drop their tariffs on our exports and level the playing field.
