normally do people get picked up right before their federal trial? usually they sit in jail awaiting trial.

Is it just a coincidence that Ghislaine Maxwell is arrested only a week after Berman is fired from the SDNY?

Happened a few weeks ago. She lost her appeal and will have to testify, yes. The news of her appeal was overshadowed by, you guessed it, the start of the riots. Probably all just coincidence
