I got down voted tremendously for suggesting this would be the driving force of Biden's win.
People want to be able to turn on the news and not hear about Trump. They want to read the newspaper and not hear about Trump. They want to have Thanksgiving dinner and not have their idiot relatives talk about Trump.
Trump is a black hole who pulls everything into himself - sports has to talk about Trump, medicine has to talk about Trump, movies and TV shows have to talk about Trump, fast food has to be about Trump. He distorts everything about our reality, completely apart from the relative merit or consequences of his policy.
A president who was generally beloved and accomplished would still draw a wave of opposition for this reason, but Trump is generally disliked even by much of his base and lacks the substantive accomplishments that would buffer against his lack of likability.
A huge part of that is sabotage by his own party, a siding of his opposition against the best interests of the country, and the knowledge by our adversaries that they can wait him out and fund internal disfunction. Part of it, of course, is his own abrasive, egotistical personality.

The Hegelian Dialectic of Thesis - Anti Thesis - Synthesis is borrowed by Leftist Revolutionary movements and utilized in the following manner to advance the argument for support of the Movement.
First, create a Thesis of Chaos, Disorder, Unrest, Social Strife, hatred and division. The Leftist Movement itself causes these to manifest. Example: Antifa and BLM are Marxist revolutionary organizations that are currently fomenting chaos and disorder. It's very important to use Propaganda to blame the chaos that you have created on the political enemy target, and it's important that your propaganda is disseminated to establish that "reality" into the minds of the masses.
Second, present to the masses your Anti-Thesis. That is to say, present your candidate or movement as the Solution to the current crisis.
The final part, the Synthesis, is the resolution of the tension between the Thesis and Anti thesis by the success of your movement or candidate.
This is a simplified explanation of the methodology. Seems to me that the three subjects with whom you shared dinner demonstrate their own processing of this Dem revolutionary methodology. Each of them blames Trump for the chaos and wants to resolve the tension by adopting the Synthesis of voting for Biden. They are totally duped by the clever propaganda and none of them realize that the forces that want a Biden Presidency are the same forces that are causing the chaos and disorder.

these teachers dont realize online school would be a job ending thing. one teacher could teach all of one grade subject,put it on tape and you no longer need that teacher.

Yeah, they're right. I was already getting there quickly, but after they sent Coattails Chris Wallace to be the "unbiased, fair moderator" in the first debate, I wrote them off forever. I will only watch Tucker on weekdays, and Gutfeld, Levin and Hilton on the weekends on FNC. Other than that, they're dead to me.

If the Democrats can stay in power, then the Government will pay the idle teachers to stay home and do nothing. That will be the kind of deal that they will be looking for. That and to sweeten their Retirement Pay packages.

I've said for a while that they need to realign Fox News and Fox Business. Take all of the hard news people - Wallace, Baier, Bream, etc from FN and combine with FB ... Cuvuto, Payne Otter (Barrons) and make it straight News and Business... change the name, hire a few from outside. Then take Hannity, Ingraham, t carlson and keep it as Fox News, or Fox News and Politics.
