"Pretti's family pleaded with him about his desire to inject himself into ICE operations.
In other words, they knew he had intentions of being more than just a protester."
at some point all these excuse makers for Pretti are going to have to come to grips with the fact that that's not what Pretti was or wants to be.
Pretti was a true believer in my opinion. He felt his govt was acting like the leaders of MN told him they were. Like Gestapo. Disappearing people.
Pretti did what he felt he needed to do in that situation. He took up arms, and body armor, and went out into the street to defend himself his fellows and his belief in his country.
He made a ton on conscious choices in the process.
He ended up unalive as a result.
In his own weird warped way what he did (in his mind) was noble.
His parents saw this coming and tried to warn him against it.
EDIT: in all these ways Pretti is much different than Goode. Goode was a naive woman who got herself in over her head and ended up unalive. I think Pretti's eyes were wide open to what he was doing and what the consequences could be (and were). I think that's why he was armed.

Remember this when Dems are back in control and rounding up opposition like they did J6 folks.
The JD6 folks were not yelling and screaming at police. They were not carrying sidearms with extra magazines and wearing body armor. Your leftist overlords overreached on a rather grand scale and have yet to be bitten in the arse for it. But of course, that's (D)ifferent.

I mean, he does... Is it the smartest or safest decision to bring a gun and wear body armor.... THEN get all up in the middle of federal law enforcement agents doing their job... and THEN resisting their commands when they go to arrest you for illegally doing so... and THEN physically fighting with them while you are armed with a gun that they realize you have during that scuffle? frick no. You're an idiot. And officers are able to protect themselves from legitimate threats. This unhinged TDS Marxist nerd fig was an immediate threat. No officer has to wait until they're actually shot to eliminate a threat. And there have already been multiple incidents of ICE agents being shot at over the last several months, for people with short memories.
So, sure. It may totally be your "right" to go to an anti-law officer protest armed with a gun, wearing body armor... But is it smart, considering the circumstances of what happened and his actions leading to his scuffle with police? Hell no. You can be "right," but do you want to be dead right?

You get into a tussle with law enforcement where you are abviously armed and amored, they are going to look at you differently from everyone around you. You are now number one target to get killed out of everyone there.
Do you have this right? Yes?
Should you be amazed as your life bleeds out of you?
No. You're stupid.
fricking exactly.

You mean Noem’s DHS? Wheee she got on national TV saying dude assaulted a federal agent??? Lied to America.
There you have it, folks. Dumb frick leftists like this dipshit refuse to believe facts they don't want to believe. They're guided purely by emotions and their unhinged TDS and hate for conservatives. That's it.

I don't know.

How does the presence of soft body armor, plate carriers etc and the presence of a handgun affect the way law enforcement views you? Increased scrutiny, a heightened threat?
None of that matters. If the deceased had stayed out of the way and just blew his whistle, yelled ICE agents, and complied with their instructions instead of inserting himself into a situation he did not belong in and interfering with them he would still be alive today. His death is regrettable and sad but is entirely due to his own actions.

DHS incident reports have stated the suspect had been verbally harassing and interfering in removal operations before he was placed under arrest.
DHS also claimed he was on a mission to inflict maximum damage and assassinate people
I would say that the DHS has no credibility at this point

Right. He was a gay nerd leftist TDS murse who worked at the VA. He wasn't a veteran.

Obvious lies are what make it more disturbing. It’s a social science experiment.

I’m never going to care a “decent” pistol.
There is enough noise around this model to probably not call it even decent.

Take a look around; most of these guys littering this site with their idiocy fully believe the DHS narrative. Just like when Covid happened and the soibois believed the propaganda about kids dying if we reopened schools, even though mountains of data had proved Covid didn’t kill healthy kids.
People living in echo chambers of curated content. DHS spits a BS narrative, then a few million keyboard warriors goes to work posting hot takes about it.

I get what yall are saying here, accuracy is paramount. But that doesn't detract from the admirable job of being a nurse, working with Veterans. If you've ever been to one of those facilities, you'd understand.

But it does matter. Some of us want to understand how these things play into the decisions that were made. You can say he should have stayed on the side walk and he’d be alive, but he didn’t and now he’s dead.
I’m commenting on what I see. The more I watch, the more details I notice. He’s not dressed like the other protestors. He didn’t grab a puffer jacket and a hoodie and hit the streets. He’s dressed in tactical pants, sunglasses, and jacket, he’s strapped and he’s wearing some level of “body armor”. He’s in the middle of the street and he’s amped up. As the kids say, he’s on a different time than everyone else around him.

This whole situation had the farting cows on The View championing the Second Amendment. It's so bizarre to watch the Left-at-large, for so many decades, vehemently oppose something but then suddenly defend it to the death when they believe it fits their narrative better.
But the funnest part is that it's forever. These video clips will be brought up over and over again the next time the Left suddenly gets fed their orders to abolish gums again. I wonder why the farting cows didn't defend the Second Amendment when Kyle Rittenhouse was attacked multiple times in 2020?
And the worst part about it is the projection. The crap i see from the "you went full-Tim-Walz" crowds on socials, always paints their "MAGA" or "America-First" opposition in a false light. ALWAYS. My liberal cousins just yesterday:
"Look at how the MAGAts are suddenly against the Second Amendment!!!1!1!"
No, you dumb cunt, we aren't. We're more pro-2A than you'll EVER be. But you'd rather just make stuff up about us and continue to refuse having an actual conversation to clear the air and get the facts.
But it is what it is. I spent years trying to get these people to engage in civil and productive discourse but they refuse. Guess they got too tired of having sound logic and facts ruin their preferred narrative. They just absolutely will not have a conversation at all, and prefer to just keep believing their own lies. And that's where we're at, and will stay, because i have lost the will to try and engage with them as well. It's pointless because, when you occasionally do get them to talk, the first time you debunk anything they say and challenge their worldview, they go straight into ebullitions of anger and calling you names.
It's not worth it. And I don't see a way to heal, when both sides can no longer communicate.
