Tearing up a SOTU speech with POTUS still on stage is the most déclassé act I've ever seen by a politician in the US Capitol. Pelosi's vile behavior was an attack on anyone hearing anything positive or hopeful in that speech.

She received the speech with her right hand and belatedly moved it to her left and then extended a hand.
She has no doubt received items. 1000s of times in. Public, you always receive with your left WHILE extending your right. Other posters are correct, just another lame attempt at gotcha.

I’d say it’s 50/50 if it was intentional or not. It’s also noteworthy that he didn’t shake Pence’s hand either.

I know I'll be in the minority on this, but I find all this to be extraordinarily childish. Is it too much to ask of the POTUS and the Speaker of the House to act like f'ing adults?

There is nothing childish about drawing contrast to the “previous administration”. ESP in an election year so voters can see their options. He didn’t mention anyone by name.
Pelosi was the only childish one on stage, as were the rest of the Dems when Trump celebrated the success of the country, and they sat on their asses.
They truly look like they detest America winning under Trump.
