I would ask, "You're telling me I'm taking a pay cut?" And then tell them to go frick themselves.
I never donated to United Way, when it was de facto mandatory. I waited for someone to come in my office and actually state the unwritten rule. No one ever did.
Donations are by definition optional.

So reading the actual story, seems like the gym took a stand against homosexuality and it’s coaches and customers exercised their free choice to leave the gym, and the gym closed. Sounds like everyone involved exercised their freedoms. What’s the problem?
