Sounds like a lot of hope in your statement. Your tears taste delicious. Keep 'em coming. There is nothing that tastes quite as good as liberal tears in the morning, noon, afternoon, evening and a late night snack. Enjoy the next 202 weeks under President Donald J. Trump. I certainly will.

Ever heard of mandatory overtime? It's a real thing. Last Fall during a work stoppage/strike I was putting in 70-80 hours a week and had to work 2-3 all-nighters. If it weren't mandatory I'd never work OT because of the taxes.

Thats great, you made great money.

Pay your taxes.

This is not accurate in many situations.

I fully understand there is mandatory overtime.

Overtime is taxed the same as regular wages.

Sorry when you make overtime you are paying at the rate that every other person who makes that amount of money pays.

Now just frick those other guys, only people who punch a time clock get the benny.

Its ridiculous.

They always have. This is nothing new.

If they can't get their hands on a percentage of someone else's money, they're against it.

Liberal?

You got the wrong guy.

This, what you are accepting is about as liberal as it gets. The only thing changing is the color of the person receiving the benefit.

I pay my taxes

I've worked in places where it isn't optional, for instance, a factory with an assembly line that ran on weekends and holidays to meet production. Attendance was mandatory, yet there was no increase in PTO or any other fringe in proportion to the extra time working, for instance, you still had to pay the same monthly rate on health insurance.

Some people can't turn it down.

Then make you some money but you should pay your taxes like everyone else.

There shouldnt be a different way to tax people just because they didnt go to University. Its almost like they are giving the people who cant do things on their own a little help and telling those that have always accomplished to go frick themselves.

Never voted for a democrat in my life.

You are about to see the MAGA party split if this goes through.

All the hard work, poof gone in an instant over this.

I guarantee it. Class warfare will begin in large by six figure earners who arent getting any relief.

You pay your taxes at the same rate you pay your regular wages.

If you work more, you pay more.

I’m not arguing any of this.

You made a false post that you are now brushing aside to focus on other aspects of wages. I simply called out that false post as did others.

Why do you NPCs keep repeating the same thing over and over that is a lie?

OT is not taxed differently than ordinary wages. Depending on how your W-4 is filled out and pay frequency your withholding may be higher but your tax liability on your wages for the year is the same regardless of OT or "regular".

You don't need to lie to make your point lmao.

I am not crazy about the no tax on tips and no tax on overtime, just pointing out that overtime is not optional for a lot of people, and that the "time and a half" rate is not necessarily proportionate to straight time in some respects.

However, at the same time, no tax on overtime does at least convey the message that working longer and harder should lead to more reward.

Carried Interests hasn't been in this conversation, but I don't think a hedge fund manager should get favorable tax treatment when commissioned salesmen and just plain people who get a bonus don't get the same treatment. They actually have a bigger "carried interest" in the business. Why don't they get the same treatment?

We don’t hate them, we just don’t think they should get special tax treatment for the same amount of work. It’s really not that complicated to understand.

Literally cannot help stupid people

You THINK its taxed at a higher rate because you MADE more money and PAID at a higher TAX BRACKET.

Your overtime pay is taxed the same as your regular wages.

This is mind boggling how people who earn money this way dont even know how they are paid.

its embarrassing and they want to give you a carve out?
