He's fine, but he has the charisma of a wet sandwich. When you want to win the presidency, you have to sell the majority of americans and he just doesn't command that gift. He'd be amazing in some sort of high level executive role, but he's just not going to win over folks across the aisle.

His problem is mainly due to the fact Trump supporters hate him for him daring to run against Trump in a GOP primary.
