I think we will have JSOC units and likely Green Berets on the ground within a couple of weeks.
JSOC units will be conducting direction stuff and Green Berets working with Kurds.
By May I think we could see large scale deployment of Marines and 82nd AB.
The Iranian military is not rolling over. I expect them to attack oil repositories and ME desalination facilities soon. That will cause chaos.

The Kurds and other minorities will be the boots on the ground. CIA will provide advice and weapons

The Iranian military is still functioning. They’ve installed a new leader. The country is dominated by religious fanatics.
We are not going to bomb them into a functioning government. We aren’t going to bomb their military into surrender, IMO.
If we don’t insert ground forces, at best we leave Iran as a failed state with the military eventually taking over and preserving fanaticism.
Im not sure what the end game is here, but it almost has to have boots on the ground for a long time to be successful.

I don't think any of that is the goal. The goal seems to be to make the Iranian military powerless. If it flies, floats, or drives it will he destroyed. Eliminate the government leadership. Leave it up to the Iranian people to do the rest. Trump said what happens next is up to them. If they become a threat later, repeat the process. I don't think he really cares what happens there other than making sure they aren't a threat to the US for a good while.
Not saying it will work but that is my take on what the plan is.
