Simply put

I favor self governance

To the degree that we can’t govern ourselves, we need an external structure

All else falls from that basic premise

i'm a bit of a compassionate conservative with a libertarian bend.

my faith overrides my politics, but i don't think my faith should dictate laws for others (outside of abortion.)

I’m not very religious so that doesn’t play into it for me. Fiscally and economically conservative, but I’m socially moderate. I’m pro lgbt rights, pro marijuana, open to more pathways for legal citizenship (giving people more pathways to legal entry, etc) but I’m extremely pro life.

Pretty much where I fall, though I'd say I'm an atheist and not as staunchly anti-abortion, though still fine with it being outlawed on a state by state basis. Oddly enough, my view on it being a good thing to get rid of on demand abortions is primarily due to my atheism as I think we get one shot at life and to deny that right to an unborn child for what in most cases amounts to a moderate burden which resulted from a complete choice (outside of rape obviously) seems crazy to me.

I describe myself as center right at this point.

Have voted primarily Republican for 20+ years, and went Libertarian in the Presidential election the past two but eagerly voted Trump 2 weeks ago.

I am honestly shocked I am that close to the left/right divide. I figured I'd be a lot further right. There is no way that current US politics lines up with this chart. I wouldn't be considered anywhere close to the middle of the US political line. It just goes to show how far left the democrats have fallen.

I am socially conservative (pro-life, pro-traditional marriage) but favor criminal-justice reform, prison-reform, and am somewhat environmentalist (in the sense of wanting to get rid of toxins, not in the tree-hugging sense.)

Fiscally Conservative Constitutionalist Libertarian.

We have drifted far far to far away from what America was supposed to be. A collection of states bound together for liberty and national defense.

Most people can’t even tell you the names of the two houses of congress much less who their actual representatives are or what they do.

We vote in local politics on a straight national party ticket line. I’d wager 95% of this country couldn’t name a single local or state government rep much less federal house or senate rep.

While I do hold some liberal social views I do not believe it is the governments job to legislate morality.

Personal freedom is important. You are free to succeed or to fail. With freedom comes consequences but it is important to let people learn from their mistakes. The government cannot be a societal safety net.

Economic Left/Right: 2.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.46

pretty accurate though more libertarian than the questionnaire would suggest.

Conservative economic policy and small government.

I’ve done the compass several times over the years, this is further right than ever before (even if it’s just a couple squares from center). Before iirc I was pretty much a bullseye from the axis maybe one off any direction. When I take these I always assume they’re going to say ‘you’re insane no valid graph’ at the end

I'm just right of center economically, and more libertarian than authoritarian.

I am religious and I do have an active Christian faith, but I don't see Christianity aligning with conservatism over liberalism (except for abortion, and that's a big one).

What makes me conservative rather than liberal is my respect for the Constitution.

I think that's about right. It shows me a little closer to the center than I thought but I think it's close enough.

Economically conservative and I guess more socially liberal.

dittoish. at least on the second part.

my break with liberalism today and where i do see that conservatism lines up with my faith (outside of my abortion) is that i can't equate me voting for somebody that says they're going to rob Peter to pay Paul as some sort of moral high ground when it comes to welfare or social justice.

the Bible is very clear about helping people on hard times but it's also very clear about people who don't contribute. liberalism refuses to make that recognition.

This is true. I differentiate people who are able and lazy from folks who are truly born into a horrible life.

also, here's me, yet voting Trump...

1 to the right, 3 down, pretty close to what I would say, I’d put me a couple spots further right.
