As a single person with no kids, I tend to still agree that families(of married couples) should get major tax benefits based on the # of kids they have. Id be open to even having a zero % tax rate on families with 5+ kids.
I don't. This is why lower taxes for all is best so everyone has the opportunity to decide.
Using the tax system to control money towards having children (either within or outside of marriage) is going to result in the same situation we have now: the working class childless paying for the welfare class single mothers.
Just cut taxes for everyone and give people the economic freedom to make a choice.

Get the government to stop incentivizing single mothers so hopefully more keep their legs closed.
Will never happen in a billion years. Ever. Women voters, regardless of socioeconomic status, will always be in favor of single mother handouts as an informal sort of "reparations" for "bad men".
At one point in history, single mothers were geuine victims of their situation, but nobody can argue against the fact that 85% of single mothers today are just women that make bad decisions and choices in men.

We need the birth rate of productive taxpaying people to increase. This is why you dont provide direct payments, you provide tax incentives

You also have to fight the feminist ideology that "A man is only useful for a cup of sperm and as long as they have a turkey baster, they don't need a man"

zero % tax rate
This should be the ultimate reward, only given for a man and woman both on their first marriage with four or more kids.

It will require a fundamental shift in the economy, imo.
As a personal example, I would have loved to have had more than the 2 kids we ended up having. But the economics of it made no sense when we were younger and in child bearing years. And this was 20 years ago - I think the economic situation has deteriorated.
We even contemplated moving to a rural area where cost of living was low. the idea being I would just work. But even that made no economic sense because the best salary I could get would have been a worse situation than both of us working and paying day care.
And even if it had worked for us, it could not work for many people to just move to rural areas due to the jobs available.
Not sure what the answer is. All I got is - clean up the cities where more areas are safe and clean enough for families to live. Get the schools cleaned up where decent people are not scared to send their children to the schools. There are large parts of cities across the country where you have existing housing stock that would be relatively cheap but are dangerous, dirty, full of drugs and the schools suck arse.

I mean did you read the post you responded to? I said married couples and tax cuts not direct payments

350 million people is more than enough. AI/Automation is going to solve most labor needs before long, we don’t need 8 kids to survive the measles and polio to work the fields anymore

I agree. I mean practically this is the most effective short term strategy you can use to encourage productive people having kids. The problem is women voters dont like practicality. If the deadbeat single mom isnt getting the same benefit, they wont support it...which leads to nothing ever being done

Life is a gift and children are a blessing... viewing humanity as cogs in the wheel is a very dismal worldview.

I believe when the government gets involved, regardless of party or ideologue, it's going to drive the rate down even further.

Trump is suggesting a $5000 payment, not tax incentives....

What are yall's ideas?
There are plenty of decent, attractive women out there that wish to bear children. Many of them are married to Low-T beta males who wish to be fathers but lack the sperm count to do so and are flaccid.
As an alternative, I would like to offer my sperm to these women at no charge. I'm 6'3" and 230, of Irish descent but I actually tan well, and am attractive enough for my own part, and far from stupid with no inherent health problems or criminal propensities. One could say my bloodline and genetics are strong.
Ladies, if you are with one of these males incapable of sireing children, please post a pic of yourself and gimme a shout. I will sacrifice a few hours of my time to each of you, for the betterment of the USA and to regrow a population of patriots.

The problem is women voters
Only if male voters are the problem, too. Just because there are loudmouthed bimbos on tiktok doesn't mean all women are a certain way.
Maybe part of the problem, scotty, is pigeonholing demographics... men this, women that.. pitting the sexes against each other.

How about just cutting taxes across ? A carve out for married couples suggest those of non-married status are still paying a tax.
You're asking for a special exception based on marital status.
Again, the only possible outcome at the end will be working class people paying for the kids of those who cannot afford the children they have. It is evil and unjust to keep doing this.
Just cut taxes for everyone and stop trying to use tax rules to force behaviors other than the minimum.

At the risk of being ostracized I would recommend that the government figure out a way to incentivize White professional athletes in basketball football and baseball And hockey and soccer To have as many as they can
Oh well Wishful thinking ha ha

The only thing that will fix the birth rate is economic growth enabling most families to survive again on a single income. Poor economic conditions are the number one reason why people forestall marriage and forego having more children.

Society is comprised of families.
If you want a society, focusing on incentivizing healthy, wholesome families is a good thing.
We ALL got here because someone had sex... let's encourage good sex between husbands and wives for the furthering and betterment of our species.

One thing the government most certainly should promote is this.
