bruh, the world literally stopped on9/11. People stopped working, schools stopped teaching, and all planes were grounded. Not a soul on planet earth was unaware of what happened almost immediately after it happened. And this was in 2001 before social media. That didn't happen yesterday. Yesterday was tragic, but 9/11 is up there with Pearl Harbor in terms of tragic moments in this country's history. Kirk is more analogous to MLK's assassination.

No, but that doesn't mean it's big.

9/11 as tragic as it was united people

Exactly. It wasn't Dems vs. Republicans. It was US vs them. I had never seen as much patriotism where everyone was together than I did after 9/11. When George W Bush spoke from Ground Zero he was everyone's President.

You must be young. Both were tragic events that don't need to be compared.

In some ways, yes.

But neither of those are as big as 9/12.

9/11 destroyed the country I grew up in. It will always be the single most devastating world event of my lifetime

Both are bad for far different reasons. 9/11 was a world event.

Man, this is almost as bad as all the leftists celebrating CK’a death.

Delete this nonsense and step away from the computer for a while.

of course 911 has a greater but especially to older people like me. The younger generation is not nearly as respectful of the events of 911 because they don’t have the frame of reference that we do. It leads me to believe that the younger generation has little concept of 911 as they are about to elect a Muslim for their mayor. Go figure that.

I'll spare you the downvote because you've already amassed a hundred of them, but bruh...

9/11 was an attack on US soil that killed thousands of innocents by foreign actors, that could have been prevented by our own intelligence but they wanted an excuse to legally spy on all Americans with egregious violations of the First, Fourth and Fifth Amendments through the Patriot Act, which was conveniently mostly already written.

Charlie's assassination is a devastating shock and has the potential to be a real turning point in modern history, but 9/11 is in its own category.
