Also, none of the censuses required you to travel anywhere. Completely made up.
None of the Christian apologists ever stop to think does a mass traveling of the population to the home of an ancestor from 1000 years ago make sense in regard to counting people.
Of course the census of Quirinius is a made of myth by the gospel writer of “Luke” but they’d never believe the evidence. But if all they did was ask themselves genuinely “does the story make sense?” maybe they could figure it out for themselves.

you atheists really get a hard on this time of the year. weird.
Because you Christians provide us with awesome entertainment, right alongside the college football bowls and the NFL playoffs.
1 - You guys complain about the "war on Christmas" because people use phrases like "Happy Holidays" or "Merry X-mas". But then you also get pissed when commercial enterprises associate their advertising and sales with Christmas. Do you want them to use the word or not? Make up your minds.
2 - you don't understand what the letter X means.
3 - you expose your ignorance of your own scriptures. Exhibit A - this thread.
Us atheists are amused by all this. And we really appreciate you inviting us to participate in your Christmas / Winter Solstice celebrations where much merriment is had. And your women let their guard down, which does indeed make me hard.

I’m sorry what I said upset you. I just find it really interesting what you find entertaining. says a lot about you as a person, that’s all.
Merry Christmas!

What did Nero allege about an earthly Jesus?

I give Bible references so you can look up the verses yourselves.
I’m very aware of how carefully you choose verses out of context and twist them to match your narrative. Sometimes a plain reading of them seems to correlate to your point. Purposefully twisting the Bible to lead people away from it is a dangerous purpose to choose in life. Often the words have nothing to do with your point at all but I suspect you hope people will just accept your arguments because you put a citation regardless of what that citation actually means.
Pretending to be an authority on a source and then using your interpretation to trick less educated people into discrediting that source shows a dedication and commitment to your chosen path. Imagine if you took the time and effort you put forth into running from the Truth to instead running towards it.

The perception of intellect by the self-described "atheist" is always a bit comical to me. In fairness, most aren't ignorant. They are generally smart enough to avoid engaging in this type of discussion with Muslims...unlike Salman Rushdie.
And I find that few are actually atheists, they just hate the Church and its Christians. This is evidenced by the fact that you seldom, if ever, find one engaged in some internet debate disparaging the teachings of Hindus or Buddhists.
Carry-on. Jesus still loves you.

Read what you wrote. I use the easiest and plainest readings. You say the verses don’t mean what they say. Toy develop an alternate meaning for what the text says, and then accuse me of twisting the text. Does that make sense?

I thought you were going kill some rats. Now we know that your story of 30 years studying biology was a lie.
It’s sad how stupid some people are to say atheists really believe in (their) god.

Peter is one of a litany of personal contacts of Jesus with whom Roman records intertwine. Let's walk those back, shall we.
Peter, like Paul, at least the real Peter, only saw Jesus (allegedly) after his death and resurrection, according to Paul. 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
And in1 Corinthians 9:1 Paul says
quote:
Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are not you my workmanship in the Lord?
Paul is often responding to his critics that he is not a real apostle. Paul responds with “Have I not seen the LORD?” (Just like Peter, after Jesus’ death and resurrection)
If Peter and James would have walked with a real flesh and blood Jesus on earth, and Paul only claimed to have visions of Jesus after his resurrection, Paul’s message wouldn’t carry any weight. Paul is instead equating his visions of Jesus with Peter’s visions of Jesus, saying he is just as much an apostle as Peter is because like Peter, he also had visions of Jesus.
