Doing something without any plan is far worse than doing nothing in this situation.

This is elementary school level leadership.

Yep.

At this point, I believe MAGA has been working with Democrats. Now to determine if its wittingly or unwittingly.

Ohio Congressman David Joyce plans to file a motion to do that saying: "By empowering Patrick McHenry as Speaker Pro Tempore we can take care of our ally Israel until a new speaker is elected."

They are more interested in helping Israel than solving the problems in our own damn country.

Clowns like Ken buck won't vote Jordan because Jordan says mean things about the DOJ. The same DOJ that railroads innocent Americans and political opponents! How the hell can you call yourself a law and order party, when you allow the law to be misused?

So it was swampers that voted against Jordan, I suspect they will push McCarthy to come back. He will then not agree to any of the conditions or at least carve out some of them. Doesn't make sense why GOP wouldn't end this and get behind Jordan. It is a self interest thing that keeps them from doing it.

Unfortunately we have not established a clear leader to unify our party.

No one is going to agree 100% on all the issues. People will have to work together to get things done even though they won’t get 100% of what they want. People have to compromise.

Many here don’t want to understand that and when a vote goes against them they begin their name calling, but the truth is nobody gets what they want every time.

according to whom? This is a rift you folks fostered. Y'all have worked on splitting the GOP for the past 7 years, theres no homogeneity. Imagine if y'all went after Democrats with the same energy.

Wrong! The right thing is to vote for a Republican who will seek to keep and grow the majority based off pushing a Conservative agenda which is what the Republican platform purports to support. Why would Republicans seek to be elected then give their base/constituents nothing they sought when they elected them? I’m sure those Republicans who voted against Jordan didn’t make “do nothing but sit on their arse” campaign promises to their voters…that being the case, do what you signed up to do. That’s the right thing. And I’m not talking about necessarily passing laws either. I would say going on offense and fighting back on some of the BS the Dems did of late is a good start.

Your other part about the past 7 years is spoken like a true RINO too. Many of us MAGA types were alienated by years of the Republican RINO types being shoved down our throats but we dutifully fell in line for the most part and played along so when our movement rightfully catches steam you can’t turn around and then claim we are the problem. This stuff ebbs and flows but based off the Obama andBiden regimes we have a good reason for the MAGA side to be emboldened at this point and you better be glad we are because you RINO types will continue to get rolled until some meaningful push back happens which is what MAGA represents presently.

The majority of Americans are idiots who likely had no idea who the speaker of the house is on any given day. I don’t think this nonsense makes any difference in how 99% of people will vote next November

For the people that do pay attention (the ones that we need to win over)... it matters. This is a horrible look for the republicans. They aren't going to be given the benefit of the doubt in running the government when they cannot even manage to govern themselves.

the adult thing to do is to secure the votes before making a move.

Instead, its just a publicity stunt gone awry.

How do you know what back door deals and jockeying was happening? Maybe some of the centrist Republicans lied and said they would vote a certain way and didn’t live up to their word?

They aren’t choosing a speaker. They are allowing an interim to act as speaker.

And? Show me where the Constitution says a Speaker even HAS to be chosen? The House makes their own rules and Article I Section 2 can easily be read to only mean that only the House can choose their speaker, no one else can impose one on them.

Ok? An action I strongly disagreed with and think was bullshite.

But never mind that, let the tyrants do whatever the hell they want.
What they want? No, I don't worship politicians and think 100% of them are horrible with the government better without a Speaker or expanding McHenry's role. I hope they don't do it but not liking something doesn't make it unconstitutional. If anything your statement is unconstitutional because you are adding restrictions that aren't in the Constitution.

With Gaetz?

Its a publicity stunt. He had no plan in place. It was obvious from the start.

What’s Bacon’s plan? He just did exactly what Gaetz did but yet you don’t call him out.
Also, what was McCarthy’s plan??? To renege on concessions made to become speaker?

Just like budget debates, so dysfunctional we can’t pass a new budget so we just keep using continuing resolutions.

We will just keep using an interim speaker. Pathetic
