I think people are projecting their anger of the ADA's ludicrous questioning onto thinking the defense was wrong for putting him on the stand.
I can admit. I’ve been guilty at times of this at times today. .

apparently Kyle shouldnt have acted in self defense until AFTER he was shot in the face?

According to the prosecutor, Kyle should’ve spent that time pondering how his attacker would feel as that .223 round passed through his chest.

They're both right. Putting Rittenhouse on the stand was absolutely insane. Stupid beyond belief!

Why didn't you remove the rifle, lay it on the ground at the gas station, and then proceed to put out fires?

Little Binger scored a few snarky jabs. His own incompetence in not keeping those concise with a cohesive narrative to use in his summation is another issue entirely.

Not to mention he’s really, really unlikeable. Although the jury was obviously dismissed when the judge tore into him, it was easy to see he was annoyed with the prosecutor before they were dismissed.

This was a helluva lot more interesting to watch than the search for those two dysfunctional lovebirds videoing their cross country trek.

I said something to the effect when they first put him on the stand and everyone here was freaking out (check the posts) that too many people get hung up on the notion that you should always stick with "conventional wisdom" when there are plenty of scenarios where that can be the WORST course of action you could take.

I thought then, and still do, this was one of those situations.

Every defense attorney wishes he had the reasonable option to call his client to the stand, in every trial. But when it comes down to it, that's a very rare reasonable option which is why you don't see it very often. This was a defense attorney's dream scenario here. This action is truly the only way to get the exact and full defense into the jury's mind. Otherwise you're limited to piecing it together with often unreliable bits and pieces of evidence and testimony. It's great to be able to shoot the jury straight.....straight from the horse's mouth.

im not sure if this was the defense's intention, but it worked. The prosecution reached so hard, and rittenhouse never waivered. im not sure you walk away from that cross thinking that the prosecution has a real case. they hung themselves

I think it was a good move to put him on the stand. Binger is so unlikable and Kyle comes across as a baby face, ice cream and Apple pie kind of kid. It’s just a striking contrast. What the jurors see in the video can almost be projected onto the DA and Kyle. He’s just a baby face kid trying his best to hold himself together against a bigger more experienced bully.

I know it’s not the same — did not have video to remind me — but I was in several firefights as a 19-year-old and cannot accurately recall all the details, moment by moment.

The adrenaline rush clouds the mind, especially in the dark.

This kid impressed me by his recollection of events and his emotions at the time.

Because there was no possible reach for the prosecution here, but a HARD reach. That was clear as day and the defense knew that.

So far, on Twitter

I made the mistake of clicking on one of the #KyleRittenhouseIsGuilty hashtags. Nothing but blind hate for Kyle.

The chasm between the two sides guilt or innocence are mind-boggling. It’s like polarization noted with the blue/black or white/gold dress phenomenon.

This was the true Lunacy of the line of questioning. No one carries a gun expecting to get shot, you carry in the event, however slight the odds, that you are threatened with being shot.

They watched little to none of it.
They are told what to say by their owner group.
Every affiliate is. They read a teleprompter when they went live. None of it is their thoughts or script. They read what they are told to read bc local news is lowest on the ‘media’ rung.
National “news” is all scripted.
It’s not debatable at this point and I will gladly debate anyone that thinks it isn’t.

you don’t have to be threatened by someone with a gun to fear for your life.

Prosecution kept asking about him bringing the AR over and over insinuating that he expected trouble. It's like a life preserver on a boat you moron. You don't expect it to go down but if it does..

Because you have two polar opposite belief systems.

One group believes you have the right to defend yourself with a firearm.

One group believes you have no right to defend yourself, especially with a firearm.

One group believes in the 2nd Amendment.

One group thinks it should be abolished.

There is no middle ground.

This is spot on. This was the prosecutions point. Rosenbaum didn’t have a weapon. Therefore he wasn’t a threat.
