Lib logic:

Tariffs are bad because they are just a tax on corporations

We need higher corporate taxes!

I mean. He's not wrong.

But Kamala would use this as an excuse to go ultra progressive.

I would ask him if he wants handouts to able minded, able bodied people to be cut back.

Ask him what's his plan to secure borders.

Ask him how can we reform education.

Ask him where he copied and pasted that from. It sounds like it came directly from a DNC email.

He makes solid points that can’t be rationally denied. Just tell him you are a Trump fig and Trump figs do what daddy Trump tells you to. Don’t try to pretend to understand any of the issues, just take it and like it.

Conservative trickle down economics where rich people get tax breaks & are supposed to share wealth with middle class peeps is NOT a viable path forward
He contradicts the above with the quote below. A huge part of the economic expansion since 2017 is TRUMP'S TAX CUTS!
quote:

If you look at economic news u will see that over the past 3 years the economy has continuously outpaced every other country in economic terms post Covid.
Trumps tax cuts for All are a huge part of this.

Your bil is a dope. Ask him how much in tax cuts he received. If he tells you none, he's probably lying unless he us victimized by property taxes in blue states.

I've seen nearly a hundred videos on the economies of foreign countries in the last two years. Here is the short illustration to counter your brother in law:

a. America's economy is 20% better than other countries under Biden.
b. America's economy was 40% better than other countries under Trump.

some perfectly fine responses in here.
quote:

I'd probably just tell him to frick off.
I don’t agree with responses like these since it’s like admitting “you have a good point and I don’t have a valid response”. Makes your point of view look weak and like you don’t know how to take care of your family. It’s one thing if it’s a rando texting you but when it is an immediate family member best to try to have honest debate. Unless you hate your family then telling them to frick off works I guess. Luckily we don’t have any disagreements on politics in my immediate family though and don’t have to worry about these confrontations

this is funny enough one that this would work too.

TLDR;

Seriously. I saw the first sentence and realized it wasn't worth the time or lost brain cells.

Perhaps.

However, I see it as "I value my time. I'm not going to change your mind. You're not going to change mine. Why waste my time trying?"

We'd still be like France in the 1990s or like we were under Obama, limping through the longest recovery in US history.

This should be non-negotiable for Congressional Republicans regardless of who wins.

I'd tell him that any administration that allows thousands of un vetted people pour across our border each day, is a treasonous administration and should not see another day in power. Also should be tried for treason.

This has been my go-to response for a while now. I tell people who want to talk politics from the left that I am a single-issue voter. What the Dems have done with the border is treasonous, and they should be punished for it. The only thing I can do is vote against it.

They don't have any comebacks worth a shite once you hit them with this.

They are a little out there. Moved to an Oregon on the side of mount hood. They try not to use air conditioner, and only use wood they chop down in their furnace. They live in a half million dollar 1100 square foot home.

It's easy to make things rosey when you giving money to the lessers and the market continues to fill their bubble unopposed. It doesn't make sense when looking at it through a realism lense.

You have announced layoffs continually rolling out and the inflation hasn't been stopped.

Tell your BIL he is full of shite.
