It seems Trump is going the route of finding common ground in order to influence Mamdani

I don't know what y'all want from Trump but this kind of stuff is usually a good way to get the things he's looking for. You have to remember the kind of environment he's forced to work in - a very ineffective, very weak GOP. He's like is own party, forced to exist without much support from the back stabbers he calls his fellow Republicans.
When you have virtually zero backing, you gotta put it all on yourself. Telling the guy to frick off when the Republicans in congress are like "What, me? Write a bill? Do anything? You got the wrong guy." I personally like the diplomacy. Trump is working his Trumpism with, whether you like it or not, a young and charismatic politician.
Mamdani knows you catch more flies with honey. Trump knows it too.

Trump is a 2 term president for a reason.
What Trump recognizes and MAGA dont is that Mamdani is a very polished young politician. He's also not an attention whore like AOC and Jasmine Crockett.
