It's amazing how quickly and easily these stupid things can be stopped when the pressure is there to actually do it. It clearly demonstrates how the left, and the Biden administration, wanted open borders as much as they could possibly make them without any act of congress ruling it so.

The cartels are trafficking people in the south now instead of drugs. The idea that Mexico's southern border is so porous is widely unpopular with Mexicans generally. They are not very happy with the Venezuelans and Haitians that are all in north Mexico. The Cubans and Nicaraguans at least get there and assimilate and try to work.
Sheinbaum is a crazy socialist but she isn't an idiot. She will do just enough to stop the trafficking from Central America to keep Trump and the cartels happy. She knows Morena and their donors need to keep their investments in the US if they want to continue their path to total domination of Mexican politics (unfortunately).

Congress did its part and passed legislation. Then Biden signed EO's that overrode those laws. And the DOJ did nothing.
I dont understand how an EO can be used to change or ignore existing federal law. EO's should only be allowed for short term issues (like 30 days) to give congress time to pass legislation. EO's should also only be for something not covered by federal law.
But congress just accepts the screwing and does nothing about it.

My guess is they know Trump is serious about solving problems and want their government to lay low and not upset him. Then they will charge those same illegals a fee to sneak across.
