Not any more. There's no illusion. They're just giving the middle finger to middle America and cashing their checks while laughing at us.

This bill isn't pro-life at all, and is actually more of a pro-abortion bill than a pro-life bill.

I'm honestly not sure why the pro-death crowd would be up in arms about this at all.

Yep. The bill is basically "codifying Roe v Wade." If Lindsey was actually trying to oppose the Dems, he'd be billing it that way and forcing them to show how it isn't.

What's in the bill?

nation wide ban on abortion after 15 weeks.

house maga types also have this same bill. and Marco Rubio backed Graham on this bill yesterday. its not just graham.

the party line was states rights. that's cooked goose now. every gop house candidate in every purple district gets to defend this now.

Pelosi is baking Graham and Rubio each a thank you cake.

I already got an unsolicited fear porn text from some Dem group. They were amplifying this exact thing.

This was done as a gift for the Democrats. They can now point to this and use it against Republicans in tight races. It will motivate Democratic voters and the Republicans will be on the defensive arguing about abortion instead of focusing on inflation, crime, the border, etc. Lindsey Graham is either a complete idiot or he was helping out McConnell in guaranteeing a Democrat Senate. Sometimes it’s easier to hate our side than the other side. There are a lot of snakes in the GOP.

Earlier this week when he proposed this I thought the same thing. Do this after the election, don't give the media ammo to attack the Republicans by lying and saying they are anti-women. I am Pro-Life and it is now in the hands of the states thanks to SCOTUS.
Take that victory and it is possible that this ruling will motivate a lot of Dems and fence sitters. Don't give them additional ammo.

With Mitch backing Senator Murkowski and pulling funds from senate races, this is definitely orchestrated with Lindsey. Mitch wants to be minority leader. It is about his power and maintaining it. His leadership is more important than the party or conservativsm

Embarrassing and cringey, but so see-through it should insult everyone's intelligence. Obviously attempting to help the dems. Absolutely the first thing I thought when I heard it. Can't believe he did that, but he's establishment, so it's zero surprise.

He should include another 500 million for Ukraine in the bill, just so everyone knows his real motivation.

Absolutely stupid play… the hubbub after the SC decision has died down and any momentum the left had til this point has faded.

Why bring it up now when you KNOW it’s got 0 chance of passing.

Also, the rights talking points after the ruling was “this is a states issue” so just going back on that.

Graham is a fricking moron.

Or something else is up that we haven't figured out yet.
He might be a moron, but he's definitely smart enough to know it will never fly.

McConnell must have gotten some bad polling showing the GOP in a position to win the majority, so he came up with this and got Graham to introduce it. Graham is not up for re-election and he doesn’t care.

Demorats want no limits. Even post birth. Just keep the baby comfortable until it dies. Virginias former governor, Northam, said so on a video radio interview.

Nah, it's pretty easy not to back this bill. It's not a good bill and completely unnecessary.

Exactly. Why not wait until after the mid terms when the bill actually has a chance of passing??
It’s sabotage

They do not want to win the Senate. Absolutely no reason to do this just prior to mid terms. It's a state issue and should be handled as such.
