More like Jamal and Abdullah's gravy train. I wish there was a way to recoup all the money that gets sent overseas from illegals.

Rhetorical question.

Pro basketball is starting that bullshite again.

quote:

The NBA postponed Saturday night’s game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors at Target Center hours after the fatal shooting of a city resident by federal agents in south Minneapolis.

The league said the decision was made to “prioritize the safety and security of the Minneapolis community.”

The NBA postponed the game about three hours before tipoff in response to the Saturday morning shooting of a 37-year-old man just a few miles from Target Center. The shooting came less than a month after Renee Good was also killed by federal agents in another section of the city.

The Timberwolves and Warriors were scheduled to play a nationally televised game on ABC on Saturday evening.

One day earlier, thousands of protestors, including Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve and assistant coach and former star Rebekkah Brunson, marched through Minneapolis and gathered inside Target Center in opposition to the surge of immigration enforcement in the Twin Cities. Hundreds of restaurants, breweries and other businesses also participated in a day-long strike, closing up shop as a statement against the heavy presence of armed, masked agents. Many schools were closed Friday as well.

quote:

After Good was killed Jan. 7, the Timberwolves held a moment of silence before their game against Cleveland the next night. Finch also offered a statement in support of the Good family and those affected by her loss.

So police can kill people who are not actually armed if the police believe they thought a person was armed? You think that will hold up?

If their belief that he was armed and their lives were in imminent danger was reasonable, that would definitely hold up even if the person wasn’t actually armed.

Moral of the story: bringing a gun to a peaceful protest is not a good idea!

Whether it is a good idea or not doesn’t matter and is subjective.

He had the Right to do what you wrote.

Good reason not to be a dick and escalate a situation to increase the chance you may have to make that sort of decision.

Only relevant in circuits that support state-created danger doctrine. No idea if eighth circuit is one of them.

Lol for real? That's retarded. So you as being in a civilian household gives you some clarity LO households don't have? What a pompous arse.

It means I can assess this situation through a less emotional lens.

Uh yeah, they’re right to expect perfection from their opponent who has the right to legally murder them.

That’s not how life works. It does make sense that a dumbass would think that.

A couple people holding BB guns get killed every few years by police. I don’t know of any police who have been charged for those.

Translation: If someone was bitting an agent's finger off, shooting by the agent or his fellows would be justified.

I would definitely argue that having your finger bitten off is definitely serious bodily injury. Plus, I wouldn’t be able to pay my mortgage

Of course it's not how life works, otherwise this guy wouldn't be dead, "dumbass"

that doesn't take away from the fact that a citizenry should expect their armed police to not make fatal life-taking mistakes on the job. but maybe that's too much to ask of America in 2026.

I don’t expect police to not make mistakes anymore than I expect a subcontractor to not make mistakes. You shouldn’t either.

It's why you don't frick around with police. You don't test them. Dare them. Etc. They're human, make mistakes and the thing to remember - if they're going to make a mistake, chances are it'll be the kind that results in them going home and you maybe not.

Seen it being floated that there may have been a ND while trying to secure the weapon with it being a SIg

I would say that is unknown. Why, what info are you privy to?

I’m just responding to the poster who argued since every officer shot, it had to be objectively reasonable bc they all couldn’t be wrong? Or something like that. Hence my hypo.
