But there are industries that are of vital national security and they should be protected using tariffs and other measures.
This is changing the argument
So you are not against tariffs totally?

Makes more sense than subsidizing their production here to the tune of billions of dollars.
I don't think tariffs will make American chips more viable, though. That's the issue. The subsidy-based plan may not work, either. I'm not defending that plan specifically.

You're changing the argument.
Your initial comment was not about national security.

Trump should switch to vivek or tulsi to ensure a win
Vivek would get portrayed as the worst robber baron even to walk the earth, and you’d see enough of his “quotes” manufactured from bits and pieces of various speeches you’d be screaming he dumped a bad pick for a worse one.
Tulsi, same thing, different subjects (yes plural).
That doesn’t even begin the attacks on Trump himself for his poor decision making, looking for a puppet he can use at need, etc.
Take at least 5 seconds to think next time before hitting submit.

Respectfully
Do the posters that agree with the OP live in predominantly red areas?
I don't.
I get both sides.
I just want to win. Can't do anything without a win.

Look I'm an every tool in the toolbox guy. The problem with the "conservative" position on trade is the countries that you are negotiating with already know you are bought off by multinationals that will not allow you use tariffs as part of the negotiating strategy. That puts them in a very strong position from before negotiation ever begin. They get their way before talks even begin.
Trump does not play that game.

In my initial argument I asserted that Trump was nationalistic. You claimed it was a euphonism for liberal. I retorted call it whatever you want, Trump on trade is about reciprocity and making good deals for the U.S.

This is basically saying you don't have principles re: smaller government and see it the same as Leftists (as a means to political desires of that moment).

Tariffs are bad strategy for the domestic population and consumers.
This manipulation is not needed for market-based policies.

No worries about JD.....we need to stop the cheating by the DEMS!
First you need to find cheating by the dems.
What were the vote totals for each state where you allege there was fraud.
That was the reason Trump lost all those election fraud cases.
He has not released a single authoritative report on election fraud in any state.
At one point he threatened to release what he called an "irrefutable report" on election fraud in Georgia which was prepared by Trump sycophant Liz Harrington but changed his mind.
She had previously made a claim on Arizona based on the ridiculous "missing voter" gibberish of Tom Piton, who used unique last names to come up with 160,000 missing voters in Arizona.
Trump doesn't have a single election fraud report made by a reputable expert using industry accepted replicable methodology.
Not one. Why is that??
Because his election fraud claims are made up horseshite - that only an imbecile would believe.

It starts with registration. Do you agree it's ridiculously easy for a non-citizen to register to vote in federal elections?

Yes. i have ben meaning to look at the law that makes that possible. not sure of the rational behind it. this will make me do it.

What are the first couple of things that come to mind as to why Democrat administrations would sue states that pass laws making it more difficult to for non-citizens to register to vote in federal elections?

Yup. A white man stands up and speaks truth about whats best for America and gets some commie reactions folks panic. It's mostly not even for what he contextually said but what the commie MSM propaganda reports after twisting his words.
There are some really weak people on this board that aren't much better than the commie progs.
