Manslaughter. But no charges will be filed.

So that’s it? We just file this under “shite happens” because they can’t read an address?

Are you this obtuse!
Lawsuits, manslaughter charges, dismissals, just to name a few possible things...get a grip!

They may have gone to the wrong address, but the homeowner came out with a firearm pointed at them while they thought they were going to a domestic dispute call.

But they knew it was the wrong house, so the perceived increased danger from the DV situation cannot possibly apply.

Where is the cop car with lights on?

Would help homeowners identify a bunch a guys walking around your yard at night as police you would think.

f you’ve never done a ride along with your local Law Enforcement, I encourage everyone to do it. There’s nothing like walking up to a car or home with unknown circumstances to help gain a better understanding of how some of these instances, although horrible, can sometimes happen.

The problem here is that they are now trained to view citizens as the enemy threat… went from protect and serve to long arm of the police state “law enforcement”.

Don't be too sure about that.
There may easily be an involuntary manslaughter charge, or two here.

The fools who are belittling the LEOs on boards like this one, don't have a clue about what it's like to be a patrol officer, especially at night!

We "fools" know how to check an address before knockinv on the door at 11:30pm. They failed to do the SIMPLEST part of their job, so stop with the "no one knows what it's like rolling up on a house" BS.

Ain't that hard to understand ...especially for people who have rolled up to the wrong house with a case of beer as teens...

I think it’s way too early to come to any conclusions.

Is it? The police didn't identify themselves, that is clear in the video.

I come from a LEO family and this is just horrible policing. The department and officers will be sued and the officers should be fired. Citizens are absolutely allowed to possess a gun especially in their home and on their property. Good officers go into every situation expecting every person to have a gun. That these officers put themselves in a situation where they were surprised and unprepared leads to these types of situations. They should be fired.

The problem is they don't know what they're about to encounter when they walk up to the door of a house, or car! More LEOs are killed responding to domestic violence calls than ANY other call!
Just go ride with these officers a while, then come back a tell us what you think!

they were wondering but didn't care enough to figure it out for sure. Seems to me that this would be something I would do before I got out of my car especially given that it was a domestic violence call. I mean wtf?

yet they were just standing there wondering what address they were supposed to be at and what address they were actually at. They sounded like fricking domino's delivery instead of leos responding to a potentially violent situation.

Incredible that the response from the “LEO” side in these situations is always, at best, that the cops should be fired.

Not arrested, not charged with the equivalent crime a citizen would’ve charged with in this situation, not thrown in jail.

They just shouldn’t be allowed to work in that department anymore.

Nobody said that they didn't make a bad mistake, and/or they didn't follow law enforcement protocol! And they'll be punished for it!
