Against.
We no longer have a lack of population problem.
It would help stem illegal immigration.

birthright citizenship

If whoever signs the birth certificate as parent is an American citizen, then the child is an American citizen from birth. If a non-citizen just happens to have a kid on American soil, then it is not a citizen. Why that is at all controversial is absolutely bizarre to me.

Against it because there parents are in this country illegally. Why would we want to break up families long term ? They should all go back with their parents.

Well, so for only one proggy has come out for it, and used the false "It's in the Constitution" argument.

Against it. If Mom isn’t legal then neither should be her offspring.

This. Dems can argue that the proposal will "destroy the concept of citizenship," which I fully expect them to do, but with this being the only proposed change, they have no argument.

But prepare yourself for the memes of historical "great Americans" whose folks were here illegally.

Since most like to use this in the context of illegal crossings from Central America, I try and use it in the context of legal access to the US...

A 34 week pregnant corporate executive from Frankfurt, Germany goes into pre-term labor while on her final business trip to the US before the birth of her child. The idea that the child would be an American citizen is insane.

I am 100% Against.

If the parents of a child robbed a bank and were caught, the child would not be allowed to keep the money just because the child was not involved in the crime. The same logic goes for Birthright citizenship, the kid should not benefit from the parents crime.

I am AGAINST granting the children of illegals American citizenship. HOWEVER, since the Constitution grants that citizenship, I only want that provision changed legally and through the regular process required to amend the Constitution.

I agree with the President that it must end, but I don't agree that it be changed through an EO.

This.

At the very least, by an act of Congress defining the terms used in the 14th Amendment.

Agreed. I really don't see a way to change it with the virtually impossible path to amendment. A constitutional convention is just too risky in other areas. Maybe Trump could offer Merrick Garland as his next SCOTUS pick it the Dems would pass the amendment? I still doubt 2/3s of states would ratify.

Thankfully, we have their actual intent in quotes from the time, so we don't have to argue over "what the meaning of is is"

Against.

There are business set up to profit from this. A local hospital sees several women a month from China in labor being assisted in admittance to the hospital by the same woman who speaks for them. These women pay for these companies to get them into the US legally, find housing and a doctor.
