Well, you can have dictatorship on one end of the spectrum (see how your taxes look then) or complete freedom and anarchy on the other. Slab City awaits you. Nobody taking your money or telling you what to do. A veritable paradise for you.
Your 51% is a dictatorship. You aren't the other end of the spectrum. I either have a right to my property, or I'm at the whims of the 51% or whatever authoritarian force you want to name.
Take a town of 10 people. Mark has 50 cows. 6 of the people in town can just vote themselves to Mark's cows? And it's not theft because more people voted to do it than didn't?
What a weak excuse.
And at no point have I said anything about not having laws, or promoting anarchy. You're just making shite up because you fail at civics.

Having roads and a functioning school district is the same as starving under a brutal dictatorship that executes political enemies with anti-aircraft guns?

As I said, if you want to play the stupid game I can do it as well. You want to take things to an extreme, then there is your big government paradise.

Well said. This doesn’t even get into all of the redlining that artificially lowered the overall quality of minority-dominated communities; the effects are still felt to this day.

You also don’t pay state income tax

Neither does tennessee, and the property taxes i paid on my dad's house he left to me was less than $500 per year. It was a very rural area though

But its all bullshite. For a country that claims to be trillions in debt. I pay taxes on every dollar I make or spend. I pay plenty of fricking taxes

The only other option would be an income tax at the County level.
No, the other option is to knock that shite off.

Gotta pay for those 80000 dollar SUVs they ride around in and those multi million dollar buildings so all the deadheads can sit around and do nothing.

Yeah, NO shite! Same here!

If my neighbors don't want to pay for those things, then they can run and support candidates for City Council and School Board who promise to eliminate them entirely. They don't have guns to their heads. I seriously doubt that we'd elect someone who said "If elected, I will close the Police Department, Fire Department, School District, and we'll quit doing street maintenance and sewage system maintenance entirely."
Yup. I wonder how many people realize this would be the end of 911. Chest pain? Too bad. House on fire? Get the garden hose. Potholes wrecking your tires? Oh well!
You can fine dozens of threads on this message board who say (correctly in my opinion) that the left winger policy of "defund the police" is completely crazy left-wing lunacy. And now you want go even further.
I never thought defunding the police and turning things over to either no one or some raggedy bunch of volunteers with guns and some social worker volunteers would be an idea that is popular on this board.
Buf okay, defund the police and good luck with that.

I hate my property taxes too, but Police Departments, Fire Departments, school districts, parks, and Street Departments aren't free.
A few taxation nuggets:
1- after you pay property taxes on a piece of property that you bought and paid for with money from income that was taxed you have to get their permission to build what you want on your own piece of property.
So you go to the permit offfice and the first question they ask is how much is the project, then they do a calculation of a certain percentage of the price is the “fee”. That’s another tax. Now for this fee they don’t actually do anything. Instead they send you to another office to get you certified engineered drawings reviewed by a lifelong secretary and she charges you $75 to do that and to send you an invoice for $500 in inspection fees. Another tax.
Then you purchase the materials and pay an average of 10% in sales taxes. Did you know that the average small business in Louisiana nets about 10% annually? THE GOVERNMENT MAKES THE SAME AMOUNT AS YOU DO FOR YOUR IWN HARD LABOR!! Slavery.
2- As you drive your vehicle, purchased with taxed income and that you paid sales taxes for, you must remember to have it “inspected “. Another hidden tax. You also have to renew your registration- tax. Then you have to buy HEAVILY taxed fuel for the vehicle to operate. The best part though, is that, as you drive, these police departments that you care so dearly about funding, set up hidden tax collection points- speed traps- to hammer every day citizens with additional hidden taxes in the form of all sorts of traffic violations.
It’s serfdom and we don’t even notice it!

All taxes should be consumption tax.

Property taxes - theft
While I'd rather not have property taxes, at least I can see where the majority of this money is being allocated. And we vote on them.
Now frick a mother fricking income tax. Taxing me on the labor and the time I spend working is absolute theft, or rather extortion and slavery.

...or New Jersey. They pay more in a month than most Louisianians pay in a year.

knock what off, exactly?
maintaining roads and bridges? they don't maintain themselves. this is your largest expenditure in local government
having law enforcement? this is your second largest expenditure in local government
having a fire dept? (even volunteer, because they don't buy their own trucks @ a half million each, buildings, and turn out gear @ $4000 per fireman). a low fire rating is what keeps your home owners insurance remotely affordable. you wouldn't be able to afford to have it if you didn't have a FD. the money you save in home owners insurance by having a low fire rating is more than you pay in property tax
emergency management and 911 services?
having a court system to record deeds, let you sue someone for wronging you. hold criminals accountable, and allow you to get legally married and divorced?
provide you parks and ball fields to enjoy with your family?
knock what off, exactly?

We didn’t ask specifically for those roads to be built, or have a fire department. Why should we pay for things that have nothing to do with us?
