If I were Putin I'd go ahead and take the whole country. Ukraine now has more guns than boys/men/old men to fire them. This would also reverse Nikita Khrushchev's mistake of making Ukraine a "country" in the first place in the '50s.
It would be nice to purchase a flat in Odessa, so hopefully Putin doesn't flatten it.

Trump got over his skis with the campaign rhetoric. It was never going to be that easy. Trump put himself at a disadvantage by being so public with those pronouncements....and that shitshow in the Oval Office with Z should never have ben allowed to happen. Keep that behind closed doors. All this has made Putin less likely to negotiate. He knows Trump needs a political win on this and the US has worn out on support for Ukraine....he isn't going to negotiate he is going to keep coming after them.

Putin and Zelensky both have told Trump to go frick himself, and Zelensky's reward will be more American money, equipment and intelligence.
