While I am not often in sympathy with the actions of MTG or Massie, there is one thing in that X post that disturbs me.

Gender surgery for minors should be a non-starter for any reasonable, sane person. It is the overwhelming evil and scandal of our time. If there ever was a hill to die on, this is it, for Republicans, Conservatives, and even classical Liberal Democrats.

Minors are not even allowed to get tattoos anywhere in the US without parental consent—and even where it is permitted at all, they must typically be at least 16, with documented parental consent under stringent restrictions and regulations (in numerous states, it’s banned entirely for anyone under 18 regardless of consent). Think about that for a minute.

Will they have enough self awareness to finally realize that their guy is being propped up by bad actors to try to divide the GOP?

Massie is a nerd, but I'm not sure the killer's politics or preferences matter. He was a mentally ill trans. That's why he did it. These people need to be institutionalized.

Perhaps the greatest and most well-placed gif I've seen in my tenure on this board.

Exemplary.

“No doubt Massie made this person trans. Definately inspired the granny to shoot people. It’s all Massie’s fault. Good thing no Trump fan ever committed a crime.”

Good grief, you people sound like democrats blaming Trump MAGA white supremecists for a mass shooting. Every bit as silly. Some of yall are essentially Biden in reverse.

Not pointed at you. You were the last post in the thread.

Oh and I’m a decade-plus too late to be a boomer. But you had a good try.

Some of those pesky conservatives won’t go along with core GOPE beliefs like massive deficit spending, hiding uniparty corruption, government ownership of corporations, monetary stimulus… you know, things the GOP has always backed! Can you believe there are those seeing discontent calling those thing out? Unbelievable!

Green and massie are woke heroes. They were and are "stopping" trump from trying to put through any of the shite he was voted to put through.

This x 1000. It is ludicrous to suggest the shooter was politically aligned with Marjorie Taylor Greene or Thomas Massie.

Both MTG and Massie have publicly opposed the transgender agenda, including sponsoring and supporting legislation to block gender-transition treatments for minors. Their voting records on this matter are not ambiguous and they both repeatedly have taken positions that transgender activists strongly oppose.

If the shooter was motivated by grievances tied to transgender issues, it would be irrational to assume alignment with two lawmakers who have actively worked against that agenda. This makes no logical sense.

But of course we aren’t discussing a rational person but a violent troon. If this shooter was actually a post-op troon, that means he had chopped off his manhood and replaced it with a hatchet wound.

In any event, attempting to apply logic to a person under the thrall of this inherently violent ideology is a fool’s errand. This accusation collapses under the weight of it’s own logic and only someone suffering from Massie or MTG derangement syndrome would promote it.
