If history has taught us anything is that NEVER underestimate the capability of your enemy. Before WWII we sold our scrap iron to the Japanese, whereupon they used the iron to make bombs. Bombs which they then used to sink our ships in Pearl Harbor.
Recently we heard reports that China is providing surface-to-ship missiles to the Iranians. Not sure if those missiles have been delivered. But clearly, Iran intended to inflict damage to our ships (including our carrier). President Trump and our military intelligence has access to information we don't. I trust our President to make the right decision.
But like I said - never argue with a moron (or an arrogant condescending intelligentsia). A wise man doesn't need your advice, and a moron won't listen. Go stand in the corner with the morons.

Article 1 Section 8 of the United States Constitution grants the power to declare war to Congress. The executive has for years unilaterally gotten us into the foreign follies. The reason this power was given to Congress was to provide oversight and keep us out of shitshows like Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc, etc.
