Seriously? You believe there were "millions" of lives lost in Afghanistan?

I agree that these people are evil. Nuland, Kagan, Blinken… the list goes on. And I would describe them as cunning, they do the office politics in DC really well, but I think almost all of them are actually quite stupid. And that’s why their foreign policy continues to blow up in their faces, be it in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and now Ukraine.

I fully agree with you on foreign policy, an absolute disaster. The bible tells us that the devil has come to kill, steal, and destroy.
Sounds like all of the Dems policies.

As the name suggests, The Global War On Terror® involved a wee bit more than Afghanistan.

Okay, how about giving an estimate how many people died in the countries the U.S. brought into the "Global War on Terror"? Thanks.

Explain what is the end game?
Based on our countries terrible leadership and handling so far, do you see this going anywhere except more escalation???
I love this country but Biden/Obama are destroying us and it's on purpose. NOTHING in Ukraine is worth my tax dollars.
We've built NATO for this very moment.
Let them deal with it.
Most of the west leaders are weak liberal pussies. Putin is the opposite. He isn't playing games.

Like any war, the death estimates vary depending on the source and the criteria on how to exactly quantify deaths directly related to combat and whether to include those deaths indirectly brought about by combat, such as illness, exposure or malnutrition.

Some estimates are as low as 800,000 and some are as high 4.5 million.

Now, your turn.

Since you brought up Afghanistan, what in your estimation, exactly was gained by the 4000+/- deaths of U.S. citizens in the 20 year occupation of that country?

I think that the end-game is to sufficiently bleed Russia of enough able-bodied 20-something men that they can never be a threat to their neighbors again. While harsh, Russia wouldn't be in this predicament if they had just joined the global order and made money like everyone else. Unfortunately, they're cursed by horrible geography. The only way that they can completely secure their vast natural resources from their neighbors is to invade some of them to secure geographical access points. For those who think that the Russians are the good guys here, you have to ask yourself WHY every one of their European neighbors have begged to be NATO members since the fall of the Soviet Union. The answer is simple. Russia is asshoe.

Exactly. Russia will now do as America has done . Supply proxies with intelligence and weapons to attack American interest. This further escalates tensions and allows for more serious escalation. Just fricking stupid move by our dismal leadership.

I hope if an when this happens we will rain down hell upon the perpetrators.

Not much other than rousting Al Qaeda and killing Bin Laden.

And it also will bleed the future prospect of prosperity in this country. Paying the interest on our nation’s debt has now surpassed defense spending itself.

By any objective historical measure, this is simply unsustainable. At some point, gravity is going to take over and it is not going to be a soft landing for any of us.

You’ve been predicting the impending demise of the U.S. ever since you joined Tigerdroppings.

Doom and gloom is your schtick.

I guess eventually you’ll be right.

I don't disagree; however, it's a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of our deficit spending. It's like having $30K in credit card debt, then taking the wife and kids to Chili's one night.

The end game is Russias withdrawal from the occupied territories and a return to the 1991 borders.

I think ukraine wants the return of those occupied territories is because zelensky sold all that farmland to Blackrock.

OK. @sshat.

Do you understand how an internet search engine works? You fricktard.

See how that works?

Now, do you want to have a conversation or trade insults? I’m game for either!

The U.S. News & World Report link I provided above cites a source that puts the death estimate at 1 million:

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/articles/2021-09-10/how-9-11-triggered-two-decades-of-costly-war-for-the-us-its-allies

Here is a link to a source putting the number at the high end:

https://responsiblestatecraft.org/2023/05/16/the-war-on-terror-led-to-over-4-5-million-deaths-report/

Here is a site placing the number of deaths on the low end:

https://taskandpurpose.com/news/global-war-on-terror-cost/

So there are 3 links from sources that span the political spectrum.
