My late father in law related an account that took place in the mid-50's. He was a young Airman on his first overseas posting in Germany, and he was walking with a sergeant in the local town. He recounted how a German man was walking towards them, minding his own business, seemingly unaware of the two Americans when the sergeant suddenly hauled off and punched the German square in the face. The guy crumpled to the ground with a bloody nose and they kept walking. He asked "What was THAT for?", and the sergeant replied "I dunno. He looked like he deserved it".

As a combat veteran this sickens me to the core. never in a million years would I think of treating detainee POWs like this.
I didn't serve like you, frankly had a pretty cushy life outside of starving myself in senior high for wrestling weigh ins, but this shite boils my blood that it deteriorated to this level. Supposed to be Europe, not tribal warfare in Africa.

Yeah. This is a typical selective media reporting.
Ukraine government is very corrupted.
Some armies that stationed in East side pro-Nazi. They have NAZI flags and signs everywhere in their campus.
They are killing the Pro-Russian residents, kids.
This has lasted for near 10 years.
Since Ukraine government did not do anything about it, my guess is Ukraine government is OK with it.
The West media just do not want to report it. A French reporter has some videos and the reporter is banned from social media and TV, newspaper.
So back home in US and Europe, the average people will think Russian is so evil. They are attacking the innocent Ukraine.

I think you're probably misinterpreting some responses and de-construction of the vid. FWIW, there is confirmation of reasonable explanation for THE supposed "azz-whuppin" scene (still doesn't un-funny it.)
We've arrived to the point in this Russia-Ukraine news-cycle where we're just assuming everything that escapes censorship or "reported" by the Usual Suspects is 90% bullsh*t or completely one sided -- with no context.
So with ONLY ONE SIDE of this alleged conflict / theater / whatever being presented via TV, social media or "independent sources" it is literally impossible to confirm or believe ANY reported "fact" AS A FACT from ANY one. So now we'll just laugh at them if it sounds looks like BS
People already ARE "stepping back" and considering the entire Russia vs Ukraine "war" one big-azz muddled, murky, unverifiable mess-- rife with propaganda jammed up the wazoo.
