Unless the rules change to allow for a simple majority to remove Trump, it will take closer to 17-20 Republicans to do it.
Yeah, but if only 2 or 3 are squishy, they can stop the impeachment from being dismissed without even taking it up.

I hear you, but don’t fall for the DNC/MSM Political Complex chatter.
Look at the Trump effect on the tail end. Resistance has hurt them. Russia has eroded their prestige and influence. PEACH MINT is a wet dog with fleas.
Keep the faith girl!

Trump may survive but I'm convinced Republicans in Senate are working against Trump.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A top Senate Republican, John Cornyn, said on Wednesday that should the U.S. House of Representatives vote to impeach President Donald Trump, he doubts a motion in the Senate to immediately dismiss the charges would succeed.![]()
Why would this a-hole GOPe POS basically say they will vote for impeachment but they won't vote to remove Trump?
Or is the, 'they won't remove Trump' BS to appease and hold people off from deep unsilent anger?
IOW's: why vote for impeachment if they don't remove when they are set up for a brilliant win for super majorities? Also who in the frick do they think they are basically announcing they have whipped enough votes to impeach but not remove?

The independents that don't see what is going on now--never will.
Majority of Americans are far from red-pilled and have zero clues about Q, and get their media updated via the major networks. They disagree with modern liberal philosophy, but are also nervous about the twitter king media star Trump who the media labels as a fascist.
So I disagree with you. There are plenty of moderates and independents sitting on the sidelines. The impeachment headlines sound bad to the typical American, cause they digest it in headlines from news outlets that they’ve learned to “Trust” over many generations. Those that dig deeper can find the truth, if they’re not too busy making ends meet earning a living.

If this goes to trial, it would be in McConnell's interest to make sure he brings the ENTIRE Republican caucus for Trump. For this, it is in Trump's interest to play ball with Turtle. It is mutually beneficial. McConnell wants 6 more years as Senate Majority leader so he won't risk wholesale Republican insurrection.

Maybe that's because some of the Rs are criminal and all the Ds are criminal.

Anyone who thinks Senate Republicans want Trump to be President is a friggin idiot. The ONLY thing stopping Senate Republicans going full “Et tu, Brute” is fear of reprisal.
If Senate Republicans, in the Washington bubble, either no longer fear reprisal or think the removal outweighs the cost they will absolutely vote to remove. That is why Republicans are putting out trial balloons regarding secret votes.
Senate republicans fear NOTHING more than the Republican Party becoming the Trump Party.

I’m putting faith in the white hat patriots who have vowed to take our country back. Trump is a tool being used to save our republic. He’s more than capable, and willing. In fact he’s leading the charge. But he didn’t orchestrate this deep state takedown on his own. This has been a long time coming. The timing had to be right. The timing is now. Trump is the right tool to command this ship through the troubled waters ahead.

You are correct.
The idea that the Republicans in the Senate will decide on the merits of the case is completely laughable.
Democrats cannot touch Trump by themselves.
Pelosi is moving forward with this shite sandwich because she knows something.
Trump needs the help of 53 guys, most of whom want him gone.
I think McConnell believe he can meet his 3 goals:
Dump Trump, Damage Democrats, have at least a good of a chance next November with Pence.

That's the problem with the Republicans. They can't find unity within THEIR OWN PARTY to support a president who is being railroaded on crap charges. The dems... NEVER seem to have that problem. Ever.
Your post is solid but the real revelation is how the R's are unwilling to use their power in the Senate. Why? Because many R's are very content with the ways of the Swamp preTrump and they welcome any and all Resistance from the Dims. Trump is allowing us the opportunity to see the Swamp in all of it's wicked glory if we look at the bigger picture.

There is no way anyone believes Pence has anywhere close to as good of a chance as Trump.

It is sad, it makes me sick. CTH has been Debbie Downer before and something happens that makes things not so sad. But the R's circling the wagons can't be denied.

I think there is a possibility the whole conference sticks together.
If they get the 20, the whole lot rolls on Trump and they ask him to resign and support Pence for the good of the country.
Trump might tell them to frick off but if he does resign he could run 3rd party and they might fear that.
If they can't get to 20 they will all likely stick together and vote to acquit.
