Kethledge is the answer.
Of the four, he not only is the most solid jurist but also comes with the least baggage

Damn, you would think this was Selection Sunday for the NCAA’s.
This whole sideshow is anticlimactic to me. I’ll wake up tomorrow, and I suspect the world will be turning.

I've been rather silent on this, because I think they are all stellar candidates.
That said, after reading the countless articles put out on each of them, my order of preference is:
1. Kethledge
2. Kavanaugh
3. Barrett
4. Hardiman
Which means we are getting Hardiman.

How did Trump narrow the list of 25+ to the 7-8 he spoke with? Why those judges?
Posted on 7/9/18 at 8:50 am to STEVED00
So NK now says the US is acting like a “gangster”.. so far, no home run for pPompeo.

The list of 25 was largely a FedSoc list that was given to Trump.
Trump has an extremely impressive vetting team, and many of these people were looked hard at for their appointment to the circuit courts or in consideration for the last opening.
Trump probably has the most familiarity with those in consideration this time around.

Is Hardiman likely another Kennedy?

No, he's definitely more conservative than Kennedy, and it's unlikely we get the "touchy-feely" vote from him.
But, of the four, he's the closest to Kennedy on the ideology specter. He's to the left of Alito, Gorsuch, and Thomas and likely on par with Roberts.
Kethledge and Kavanaugh are somewhere between Alito and Gorsuch.
Who the hell knows where Barrett falls.

One more question...who is more to the right, Alito or Gorsuch? Gorsuch has only been around for one full term.

Generally speaking - based on what I've seen so far out of Gorsuch - it's like this:
Center
Roberts
Alito
Gorsuch
Thomas
Center
Roberts
Alito
Gorsuch
Thomas

Barrett's a wildcard. Everything about her past says she is very conservative. However, she hasn't been a judge very long and thus, has yet to make many real decisions.
I don't give a shite about Roe v. Wade. That's a liberal (and conservative) dog whistle. One big concern is her stance on immigration (if you're a conservative). She has two adopted children from Haiti. While certainly a noble aspect of her character and something that could help her in the confirmation process, does that also mean she has a sensitive heart when it comes to what is akin to an invasion of people from shithole countries? The pictures of the crying children at the border absolutely tug at your heartstrings (especially if you're a parent). But we practice the rule of law. It's what has made this country the greatest in the world. Emotion cannot be allowed to interpret law. And you can bet immigration isn't going away anytime soon as liberals try to bring more and more people into this country illegally. They aren't even feigning following the law anymore. They expressly want open borders with no control of them whatsoever.

how much will they shite on her?

Yea, Barrett is just too unknown for me. I understand why some people want her, but I think those reasons really have nothing to do with her known positions on the law or her record of judicial conservatism. She would be a great Ginsburg replacement if such should occur.
Sadly, I wish there was someone out there who was a far-right as Thomas who fit the mold. Trump should have expanded his search for this seat instead of relying on the list.
The list is full of late 40's early 50's conservatives. All well and good. But, people forget that Thomas was 43 when he was confirmed. Hell, one of the most influential Justices of all time (Joesph Storey) was appointed at 32 (granted it was a much different era).
I would have loved to expand this a little bit and go full on balls to the wall Thomas clone in his early 40's. In that sense, this is all a big whiff to me.
