Ok and? Are these people being paid? That’s the bigger question. Cause if they are some sort of dangling person who just wasn’t closed out in 1957 when they died but they aren’t receiving any benefits who cares?

Well this should be easy to prove. I assume SS has names, addresses and bank accounts, social security number etc on file. Release the names or do we just accept an excel spreadsheet as “proof” ?

Yet some people were doubting fraud could’ve occurred.

Each of those SS#’s is (was) a potential vote. Get 1/3 of those and you coast to a victory.

HOLD THE PHONE

0 THROUGH 100= 377,626,689

our estimated population is 340 million with estimated 25 million illegals

I think we found out why SS is going broke!

Unreal. I can't possibly imagine why they told us it was guaranteed to go bankrupt in the 2040s.

what they have paid into the system is far more than what they get

Are you high? I'm 59 and for the last 20 years I've been fortunate enough to max my SS payment each year. This year that max will be around 10K. Twenty years ago, it was was a little over 5k. Average is 7.5K a year, for 20 years or 150K total. If we include the next 3 years at 11K per year, that's 33K more. Prior to 2025, I made peanuts. Maybe paid in 2-3K a year. That's another 16 years at an average 2K, so 32K. I've paid a total of 215K in my 44 years of working.

My SS estimate is that I'll receive 2400+ a month starting at 62. Inflation from 1984 (according to google) shows to be 203.76% ($1 in 1984 is equal to $3.04 today). If I live to 92, I will receive 30 years of SS starting at roughly 30K at age 62. Assuming 3% cost of living a year, I'll receive 70K the last year for an average of 50K. In my 30 years, I'll receive around 1.5 Million in benefits.

The 215K I paid in will pay me back 1.5 million. If I live to 90, adjusting for inflation I will take out more than I put in.

Of course there's money attached to these extraordinary ages. Don't be a child.

Why would DOGE care if it were an open case for someone who died 68 years ago with no outbound money attached?

We've already seen Musk confirm that to this point there's no mechanism for duplicate SSNs.

Whether these individuals are receiving checks, it points to a poorly run system. Which creates opportunities for "fraud, waste, and abuse"

Funny, but I thought the first three numbers were some sort of region in the country code, so 577.

This is the problem with Elon and his group of twenty something’s. The social security office uses COBOL, which no one on the DOGE team understands how to read or interpret.

Also, does it conference anyone that they are poking around these databases and posting some of the data? Elon has already posted classified information about the size of an intelligence agency on their DOGE website.

You can certainly weed out the waste and fraud, but perhaps posting the info for all to see (including our enemies) isn’t the best way to do it.

Remember when people said we had to raise the retirement age and reduce benefits to keep SS solvent? Turns out that there is another way besides taking even more from the taxpayer to fill the hole left by fraud and waste.

Updated census has us at 346 million people

so that puts us at 51 million with SS that probably shouldn't...

add in the question about undocumented people? Rubio said Sunday that number is about 25 million

so help me understand, is the 346 million census include the undocemented?

what a freaking mess, hope they fire a bunch at SS today! ...and they obviously need database assistance

it's probably a nightmare to track births and deaths on a monthly bases

Sorry, baw. Not even close. Bill of Rights was 1789 with the ratification of the Constitution.

220 years ago was 1805 and we weren't even halfway through Thomas Jefferson's run.

One of the DOGE baws wrote an AI script to decipher ancient papyrus scrolls discovered during an archaeological dig.

You honestly don't think one of them has ar least a cursory interest in legacy programming languages?

Yeah, people who can code for rockets going into space don't know how to read a SS database
