He worded as if the immigration enforcement officers were at fault.
He could have easily just called for prayer to end ALL the violence.

Was there a call to prayer for Laken Riley or Rachel Morin? I can't remember.

Catholics have what's called holy hour (or Adoration), where the Eucharist is placed out in front of the altar for an hour.
Generally involves silent prayer and contemplation in the presence of our Lord (sometimes a rosary is also chanted as well as a brief discussion of a Bible verse or collection of verses)
This isnt anything unusual
I'm a cradle Catholic and went to Catholic schools from K thru freshman year of college. An hour long prayer session in school for any reason is very unusual. And we certainly never held Eucharistic Adoration during school.

Dear God,
Please help these violent radical leftists stop being so violent as it tends to lead to their own deaths and puts many others in harms way.

This was mentioned last week by my son. I’ve heard nothing from the school.. not sure if that is by design, I didn’t see it, has been rethought or they don’t care to deal with parents..
As for the diocese. Catholic isn’t part of the diocese and thus isn’t required to participate in these edicts by the bishop.

Ive seen it in our diocese, but ours likes Adoration hour. Mileage may differ based on different diocese.

zenit news: usa-state-department-formally-cancels-aid-to-catholic-church-refugee-program
Sure, Americans are a charitable group of people. Christians are willing to help those in need.
But with all the needs Americans have why are we spending money on non-Americans?
I am Catholic and love the Faith. But a great number of us are bewildered about the hissie fit the Bishops are throwing because their gravy train has been stopped. Apparently, the Bishops (a.k.a. the Democrat Party at Prayer) doesn't GAF about needy Americans nor about shepherding their own flocks to heaven. THey want $$$ and to hang with the cool crowd!

In 2023, the USCCB received $130 million in federal contracts for refugee and migrant services, with the majority of funds distributed to local Catholic Charities agencies that provide direct assistance to refugees. Between 2014 and 2023, the conference managed nearly $800 million in federal funds for these programs, spending a total of $850 million on resettlement efforts.

Nothing is more divisive and polarizing than this bishop’s language. Clearly biased against law enforcement doing their jobs and the Trump administration, while tugging on heartstrings referencing “welcoming the stranger” and “feeding the hungry.” No mention of illegal alien rapists and murderers. Disappointing.

very true.
we should welcome strangers and feed the hungry. there are plenty of unfortunate people sleeping in the streets and in homeless encampments who need shelter and mental health care. if you could manage a program without grift imagine funding an asylum for those people.
why are we opening the borders when we can't even take care of our own needy people?
why are we opening the borders and admitting gang members, chicomm spies, and aloha snackbars? we have a right to deny entry to those coming with ill intent.
it frustrates me that the religious leaders care more about the government gravy train than they do about the immediate needs right under our own noses.

Bishop Duca cited a call to prayer from Archbishop Paul S. Coakley, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
I would rather the bishops call for an hour of prayer for the forgiveness of all their sins involving profiting from the many years of human trafficking into the United States.

Completely agree. I was at Mercy mass before the holidays when the priest started the mass by reading a letter from the bishop basically talking about troubled times and immigration enforcement. Noticed lots of people looking at each other with that wtf look
