Bingo! This, and a rigged election, has been what these freaking masks have always been about. Nothing but controlling the population, the ones that are dumb enough to believe that a mask that you are able to smell a scent while wearing is really going to protect you from a virus!

People are just so stupid!

Stupid people do as they are told, not what necessarily makes sense.

I’m not sure this is as partisan an issue as some of us would like to believe.

Yes,the libs are sky screaming as they do everything else, but I know hard-core conservatives, who never buy anything else that the media says, that are 100% in on masks. This is what a year of this shite has done to people. Which was the intent in the first place.

a lot of people are worried about their elderly relatives. Wearing a mask doesn't help you old grandma much if the people around her are not wearing them. Plus since it helps slow down the spread of the virus, it makes it less likey she will get the virus. That is the reasoning. Doesn't have anything to do with so called "authoritarianism" or some such bull shite.

If the mask is so good at protecting someone, then what does it matter if I don't have one on but the other person does? Are they not protected according to their own logic?

the videos on the youtube have been out since last march on how wearing a mask helps slow down the spread of the virus. They have plenty videos out for a long time now that show in slow motion the difference in the effect and spread of the virus while wearing a mask while talking, breathing, sneezing, etc vs not wearing one. The virus travels maybe 12' if you sneeze without a mask vs a couple feet while wearing a mask for example. How can people still not know this?

Then wear a mask around your elderly relatives and get them vaccinated. My elderly relatives know the risks and don’t expect everyone to do something on their behalf.

not really. They are protected slightly more by wearing one but they are more protected if you wear one. Do you really not know how the masks work after all this time?

I encourage all of them to wear multiple masks, panty hose stockings, eye glasses and face shields simultaneously. Heck throw in a glad bag if it tickles their fancy, but they can keep their noses out of my business, and and my family’s.

i don't have many contacts on social media to begin with, but i do have some staunch democrat friends that i do love dearly, despite our differences.

i don't have FB, but i asked my wife to go look at 3 people in particular's feeds in particular and all 3 were screaming about it within the hour.

i hate that it's partisan, but it is.

interestingly, i think it's Israel where the conservative group is pro-lockdowns and pro-masks and the more liberal faction is anti.

except it has been pretty apparent that masks do nothing in the way of stopping the spread, especially the masks most people wear. they are worthless.

it is just better for them if less people have the virus and the spread is less.

is it really that much inconvience for you to wear a mask? In Kenner/Metairie everyone wears a mask in stores and it really is no problem here it seems. Pretty simple to do and no big deal.

Sorry, but youtube videos are not equivalent to scientific studies that show actual evidence of masks doing anything to slow the spread of a viral disease, or showing any significant statistical differences in infection rates of mask wearing vs not. Have you read the disclaimer on a box of masks?

Doubtful considering he can't explain to me how masks work.

Well, the medical field has told us that the corona virus cell is one of the smallest virus cell known, about 70-90 nm. The only masks that are going to protect you are the medical N95 masks, not the ones you buy on Amazon.
My husband works in the medical field, in the accounting side, but everyone in his company had to be fitted for the N95 medical mask. They measure your face and it fits like a glove, you can't smell anything when you wear this mask.

So mandating that perfectly healthy people walk around with a piece of tissue paper over their face or a piece of linen is stupid. Now if you are not feeling well, or elderly, or have underlying medical issues, or if you just want to feel better, by all means way it! But don't me or mine that I have to!

Perhaps grandma should be in isolation then? Instead of infringing on the lives of everyone else in her community? Just a thought.
