Yep, same here. I don't know of anything else I buy that's from out of this country. And I typically don't need a new Toyota but about every 7-8 years.

Yeah but it's a half truth. It's also a negotiating tactic.

Tariffs will cause trade wars lessening exports and if successful, wouldn't raise nearly that much money.

Tariffs are economic weapons, used to gain compliance/leverage from other countries in lieu of physical force/war.

As with any weapon, when used appropriately, they're great. Used inappropriately, they're not great.

The ignorant debate tariffs. Knowledgeable people debate specific instances of use.

If I get a 30% raise because of no income tax, I’ll pay more for goods and services.

Then they should tell us what tariffs are on what goods so I can choose to not purchase them.

Granted there will be some things you can't avoid but I'm sure there are some I can do without.

This is where the libertarian argument fails. We can't just eliminate all government funding completely without first eliminating the spending.

. It's a revenue generating mechanism that forces foreign companies to open factories in the US.

So they're taxes used for redistribution of American wealth, in that case.

I don't think you were trying to defend Leftist economics, but you did.

Would you take higher tariffs on foreign goods for less or even no income tax? Because that is what Trump is calling for.

Want more production here, more opportunity, more wealth generated; Then just deregulate the shite out of everything

That would help but market forces dictate that absent intervention it’s cheaper to manufacture offshore.

Where are libertarians advocating for the high spending?
