Thankfully, I've never worked anywhere that didn't hire based on the best person for the job.

The problem with those sorts of lawsuits is our legal system. Some person gets fired for an illegal reason, and they'll clearly win, but it will take them 5-10 years to get it through the courts for a final ruling. Meanwhile, no one will hire them to work during that time so they're supposed to somehow fund an expensive lawsuit and make ends meet all while having no job.

I work for a fortune 10 company.
Last year a female left our team, and my boss asked me to interview 3 candidates and give him feedback. Another employee was in the interviews.
2 were white and had 20+ experience and one was even a VP applying for a director job.
the 3rd was a black lower-level employee with 5 years' experience, and he was around 28.
i spoke with the other employee after the interview after we both said it was a close tie with the two white guys and black dude wasn't even in the picture. He was horrible.
Told my boss my next day and he said he thought the black guy was much better and they were moving forward with the black guy. I asked why and kept pushing and he finally said HR is really pushing him to hire him because they lost a female off the team and needed a person of color.
Very sad. a year later guy is a complete dumbass that has never hit 80% of his sales goal once.

If you are a white man in business getting a job these days you have skill and can talk.

I looked for work for almost a year, firing out hundreds of resumes and could barely get a call back... and not to toot my own horn, my resume isn't too damn shabby. I'm pretty sure, the majority of companies hiring weren't looking past those totally "voluntary" ::wink wink:: race/gender questions as part of the application process.
Meanwhile, during that time, I find out this was going on:
1 in 6 hiring managers directly told not to hire white males, and over 50% surveyed said they felt their jobs could be in jeopardy if they did
This article actually celebrates that in the year following the George Floyd/election year psy op made up "racism" riots, 94% of corporate America's hires were "people of color."

Not sure how far the search function goes, but searching "DEI" in just the title it came up with 10 pages worth going back to MAR '22. Vote for whomever you want but the retard is the person that thinks DEI is some new thing and not just a polished previous turd. Ie...Affirmative Action
The oldest one I found..
Disney engineer comments on how Disney is being rapidly transformed by DEI activists
Noooooo.... RaoulDouche504 says he and we are just making that all up, cuz... muh zero critical thinking skills and DEI is some new political fad that is all in our heads.
And he's super smart... way smarter than us.

Friend has worked for the Fed Gov for 20 years. A black female from another agency transferred into his office. He says this black woman speaks ghetto and he has trouble understanding what she says sometimes and asks her to repeat herself. The black co worker files a complaint against him that he is purposely claiming he can't understand her speech to discriminate against her. It turns into a big deal with an investigation. Some of the others in the office admit that they sometimes also have a problem understanding her. My friend goes and gets a hearing test and it's determined that he has a hearing loss that makes him unable to sometimes understand speech. He gets hearing aids and now he feels he is somewhat protected from the this black co worker, because there is a medical reason. He is the only white male in the office of about a dozen people.

Years back, we interviewed about 20 folks for an admin role. One of them was a black guy. He didn't make the cut.
He interviewed for a similar spot in our competitor's organization -- Rejected.
He attributed our rejection to racism, and told that to the competing company. It was a major reason for their rejection. No doubt he attributed his second failure to racism as well.
In the end, both organizations hired what they deemed the best applicants to fill respective needs.
For what it matters (it mattered not a whip to us), both hires (ours and theirs) ended up as Black females

It’s not a story personally that involved me as I was on my way out of the company. But the VP of marketing was also the Chief of a diversity. She said the goals of the company was to get more diversity in upper management because the company has too many white men in charge. This is an engineering company so it’s of course heavy on the white men. Then we had a campaign where we would feature young professionals in the company once a year. They had to be nominated by their supervisor, the day the newsletter dropped in the company emails she calls me asking where the diversity is and it’s just too many white people. I’m so glad I got out of that shite hole.

I have a buddy that is Chief Audit Executive for a large health insurance company. He said it’s unbelievable how liberal the organization is. That has led to some crazy DEI hiring mandates, which has led to all kinds of problems because of an inordinate number or unqualified or under qualified people in key roles of the organization.

A few months ago I was asked by my two supervisors if I'm interested in taking a Superintendent position (Oil & Gas). I was hesitant because twice before I was up for the spot and both times it was given to "good ole boys". A month later I get a call from the Drilling Manager informing me that even though I'm more than qualified, they had a meeting and agreed I should get the job and deserved the job, it was given to the VP's buddy because he thought he'd be a better fit.
Me: Engineering degree, 25 years experience, worked everything from swamp barges to platforms and deep water drill ships in US, GOM, North Sea, West Africa, Iraq, Saudi Arabia..
Him: High school graduate, 15 years on land.
Oh did I mention he is white and i'm not.
Point being there will always be stories of people getting jobs and not deserving them whether is DEI or "good ole boys". I just have a feeling there are a lot more "good ole boy" than there are DEI. Has a thread ever been done on that? Nah its more fun if it's racial I guess.

I think the problem most have is not the shear numbers. It’s the hypocrisy and double standards.
It’s also not because of losing out on basic jobs like blue collar that this is happening. It’s happening more in higher level or administrative jobs and is not purely about race. Women and LGBTQ are getting positions disproportionally now.
Did you know that NSF Graduate fellowships for doctoral studies in Stem are awarded to females at a 70-80% clip? There is literally no point in applying if you are male and they don’t hide it.
That said I have actually met super qualified minorities that feel like shite because they now question if they were the best hire. They have spoken to me about this and it is a major problem. These perfectly qualified and exceptional people are now looked at like the majority of incompetent hires that ARE made purely for DEI purposes.
Again, it’s not going to move the needle much in those mean or media wages by race. If black athletes dominating most of the money still make almost no dent in those numbers. That is why those statistics don’t mean shite without context and can’t be used to claim DEI unqualified hires are happening at significant numbers.

If your story is true, you can file a lawsuit. It’s illegal. It’s an easy win. DEI is a legalized version of what you described. And you support it.

My story is very true. I have no need to lie about. There a few people here that know who I am and would vouch for me.
I don’t recall saying I support DEI. I wish people would look at someone’s merit unfortunately that’s not a world we live in. I think DEI and the good ole boy system are both wrong. But I do think there are way more good ole boy stories than DEI. And GOB affects all of us no matter what race or gender.
