He arrived at 4am to prepare the donuts and coffee he intended to hand out to the ICE officers before they rudely shot him in the face.

He was an amazing young man with so much to look forward to in his life like carrying loaded weapons to ICE raids

His kids are so proud of him for standing up for what he believes in

You know, that is a very interesting question. Before I got my concealed carry permit, I did a lot of research into this. Opinions were varied on the subject.

For some, it depended on the gun you carried. For example, a 1911 in 45ACP holds 9 rounds- 8 in the mag and one in the chamber. Some felt that it was enough. Some carried an extra mag to not feel “outgunned.”

9mms can have capacities of 6 up to 17. While many felt that it didn’t have the “stopping power” of the 45, it made up for it in capacity.

While I don’t want this to turn into a caliber debate, :), all the advice ended up the same way- carry a gun that you are comfortable shooting in a capacity that you feel will get you out of a bad situation.

Then, the Summer of Love happened. The conversation shifted from, can my carry get me away from a bad encounter to can my carry get me away from this angry mob. People started discussing carrying extra magazines, even if they carried a 9mm that held 17 rounds.

Some who didn’t advocate for carrying extra magazines stated that if you hit one or two of the rioters, the rest will scatter, allowing you to escape.

So, in my opinion, he watched too many movies. By carrying those extra magazines, he was primed for a big situation.

I wonder if the illegal Somali rapist he died to defend has shed any tears over his noble sacrifice?

dog dad,

I cannot even begin to explain how much I hate this term or anyother animal parent term.

Humans are NOT parents to animals, they OWN the animals. Stop calling yourself "cat mom" or "cat dad" or "dog dad". Its horribly cringe.

He showed up looking for a fight against ICE. He probably fantasized in this mind the gun battle he would have. No one in their right mind would take a gun to a confrontational situation, which is exactly where he knew he was going to that morning. His weapon there to use against ICE.

Quote from his parents.

quote:

Family members said Pretti owned a handgun and had a permit to carry a concealed handgun in Minnesota. They said they had never known him to carry it.

His neighbors also said that he would go shoot a rifle at a nearby range but they were surprised that he would be carrying a pistol.

If he was going to a protest and that is the only time he would walk around armed who did he think he might have to shoot?

You also must carry an ID on you to keep within the concealed carry laws. He did not have his ID.

You have a link to this from a source? Or is this just an internet rumor?

The guy was identified pretty quickly.

You're saying that before the guy left home, he either took the time to pull his driver's license out of his wallet, or he just left the wallet at home.

The U.S Constitution doesn't ask that question.

Why does any American need more than a couple of guns in their home? You really want to start asking Americans why they need as many guns or ammo as they have?

Alex Jeffrey Pretti. White male born in Illinois. University of Minnesota graduate, medical professional employed at the US Dept. of Veterans Affairs, avid outdoorsman & dog dad, legal gun owner with no criminal record.

He also became a Cub Scout at age 2 (not normally allowed at such a young age) and reached the Boy Scout rank of Eagle Scout at age 6. He was known for helping Girl Scouts sell cookies at his school. He once, at age 8, rescued 200 people from a burning building singlehanded while the Fire Department watched in awe. He donated blood at the local blood bank every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. At age 10, his school bus driver passed out while stuck on railroad tracks because of a two flat tires. Alex changed the tires and drove the bus off the tracks just seconds before impact. He then dropped off the rest of the children at their homes. More to come…

Well that explains why he thought he could bring a gun to an ICE protest. Cause of death was suicide.
