the point is that it's VERY likely that shot came from the dad
I thought all 3 shots sounded like they came from a shotgun, but I'm not 100% on that

yeah and if that argument falls, they are pretty much auto-guilty of pretty serious crimes
if they didn't have the legal shield/authority to attempt a "citizen's arrest", then they're just 2 guys stopping citizens with lethal force
This is fair.

No. They can’t detain someone they suspect of a felony.

This didn’t happen yesterday. It’s two and a half months later.
Huh? Didn’t this happen in March or April?

Yeah. I think so, too. All three shots sounded the same on video.

Why is the main picture being shown of the guy his high school senior portrait? He’s 25. Seems weird to use a 7 year old picture.

If you want to change “suspect” with “immediate knowledge of” I concede that point.
I used suspect as a deference to supposition of innocence

Like it or not, in Georgia a citizen can detain someone they suspect of a felony. You can emotionally describe it however you want, that doesn’t change.
But you can’t commit textbook aggravated assault to effect the arrest.

If they saw the felony happen yes they can. They have to immediately transport them to proper authorities though.

I am not at all saying the kid was innocent (we have no way of knowing), but he did not deserve to get killed.
I agree with this. I also believe that the father and son were dumbasses to try to attempt a citizen's arrest using guns.
Having said that, I think you have to consider that this case may not end up with premeditated murder charges against the father/son.

These are the 911 calls from the day of the incident
He had just been spotted inside a house under construction, sounds like he was stealing equipment from the contractor and had done it before

Stealing anything from someone’s dwelling is a felony in Georgia.
Link?
Only thing I can find is a value of over 500 being a felony.
Also does a house you do not have an occupancy certificate count as a dwelling? The house was under construction.

An innocent unarmed person being chased thru a residential neighborhood by armed men?
Again, you're unarmed and going to run right at them and grab the guys gun? That doesn't compute.
Why not turn around or run in the woods?

Oh ok. The timeline is confusing to me as to why this is just blowing up
